LOL at Mitch! That is just too funny! So now I know! So what is your husbands name? just so I know! :) I would LOVE to come and visit you. Yep, I think we'll have to wait until spring. Speaking of dog vs mate, I had one of my co-owners email me yesterday saying that the dog had BIT his wife! She is a very docile person, very sweet, meek and almost frail. I don't think she could raise her voice at the dog. I have been insistant that they let the dog know that BOTH of them are alpha, but the boy is viewing the wife as a subordinate. The trainer and I are talking back and forth hoping to remedy this situation or the dog will be coming back home to me. (although the trainre has said she's love to keep him herself!). What a coincidence that this thread came up right now! sheesh! Peggy

The more I know about women, the more I love my dog. As a matter of fact. The more I know about humans, the more I love my dog.

I have this issue sometimes, if my fiance is getting too rowdy, my dog gets whiny and tries to nip/drag him away from me. Which is almost cute considering how powerful he can get. Otherwise they're really good friends, although my dog will find and greet me first if we come home together before greeting him. That's that, we each have our own dogs and our dogs like and tolerate the other but it's obvious who their 'person' is.

My big boy is definitely my dog, always has been. I do all the obedience training with him and he follows me around all day. But my DH loves the boy too, just doesn't pay much attention to him. The boy adores DH and lives for a kind word or pet from him and the occassional rough-housing. When DH decides to use a few obedience commands like "hier" "fuss" or "platz," I am amazed at how snappy and correct the dog is for him, much better than he is for me LOL!
