Not sure what I'm going to do with the Terv. The breeder is pushing me to show her but that whole scene is quite intimidating to me. She's got more of a pet temperment anyway, but I hope to do herding and agility with her. I've been interested in showing for fun for years now even though I'm a bit anti-AKC. Of course I'm a total hypocrite for buying a total show line puppy *chuckle* I admit it's nice having the terv, she's a relief to work with compared to the two (KNPV line) mals. I'm not exhausted when I'm done :) I've got a mal boy (2 yrs) and mal girl (5 months) but she is semi-long haired, and the tervlette. I thought it would be fun to do stuff that I haven't gotten to try yet on the lower-drive pup where I can probably get away with making so many newbie mistakes. She's got average drive I guess and only a moderate activity level and I think she'd be easier to learn with than the two who operate at warp speed 24/7. It's like there is so much to do with the two mals (both for Schh) that I can't possibly squeeze in teaching them anything else, ha. I now understand why the show terv folks think the malinois people are totally neurotic and insane :)

I was raised with a personal protection Trev. He was over the top. I could not open a door without announceing myself first or he was at your throat. Scared the daylights out of me, I did not think the garage door to take out the trash counted, and he was upstairs sleeping, WRONG!!!! That dog was a machine and always on. The breeder picked him up one day for a show at Disneyland and he could not get him out of the kennel. Stormy had bonded so tight with my Mom, he could no longer be handeled by anyone else, So my Mom and Dad had to go get him, was a very funny site to see, My Mom and Dad with Stormy between them walking out of Disneyland like nothing was wrong, and everyone clearing a WIDE path, telling my Mom that dog was nuts. He was great as long as you understood the rules about doors and my Mom was the boss.
