GSDkid, my pup below was 800 Euros plus shipping, from a legendary breeder with an impeccable reputation: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/474040.html Granted, he was not marketed as an "ultimate show prospect" or "world-class" on some slick website for five times as much...

...but I'd be feeling like the world's biggest idiot if I'd paid their prices.

Had someone tell me I was over-inflating a price for two separate 2 year old females with "a" fast normal hips, BH, and had everything but the retrieves for SchH1.....price, you ask???? $2200 including shipping for one, $2700 including shipping for the other (from Frankfurt, Germany)!

doesnt sound inflated to me you have hours and hours of hard work and food and goodies to keep that dog fit and I would hate to add up what a person has cost in a dog by age 2,to achieve what u were offering at that price.I know what it cost to get to 2 years a BH grueling hours of training and prelim hips im sure u did not inflated at all Thats different from selling pup promising to be something u cant know it will be for the same price u just stated for a 2 year old there is never a sale until 2 people agree and if someone agrees to pay the inflated price then the market goes to inflation.

Yes the cost of some of these pups are very outlandish. Who can say that these dogs won't have problems?! Some/all/any of them can and then you've invested that much money and have a pet, maybe even a very sick pet. It's pretty sad when people pay that much for a puppy. Susie, I would LOVE to come over there to Germany! Sure wish I had the funds to do so. At some point I would love to import a puppy from Germany too, but at this point it is not feasible. My dream would be to fly to Germany and see all these wonderful kennels and meet these beautiful dogs face to face. My dream! :) I also wish I knew someone there who I could trust enough to purchase a puppy from, unseen. I've heard so many good/bad stories about people getting dogs who were sick/dysplastic, etc..and getting no puppy as a replacement. That is what I would wish for. Peggy

I feel a little ripped offbecause I payed 2,000 then shipping 500. I got a Dux della Valcuvia grandson and a Yello grandson. so if someone paye 1200 for a VA5 Zamp now VA1 I feel extremely upset. I would have give the dog back but my dad wont let me and I have bonded with the dog. SO i will keep him and see what he can do. HE got VP at local conformation show.

GSDkid, don't beat yourself up. It sounds like you have a nice pup, and what you paid is a) history at this point, and b) not as inflated as some of the prices for other pups from that broker are. You probably wouldn't have found a pup in America with such a pedigree for much less than $1,500 anyway. Plenty of people three times your age have paid three times what you did for an 8-week old pup. Also, don't automatically assume that a pup from Zamp would turn out to be any better than yours just because Zamp is VA1. The mother of your pup is SchH III with an FH2 - most bitches don't have those working qualifications.
