Yes Hundmutter, this is her.
After the C section I thought that with the puppy suckling the milk would come in but there was very little and what was available I believe was making the puppy ill.
I guess rather like a bitch that has mastitis the milk is not good for the puppies, not that mum has mastitis, thank the lord I don't need that.
Since feeding her the goat milk, egg yolk & Greek yogurt the puppy has thrived but she is just constipated, poo is like small, dry granules .. though the colour is normal.

We posted at the same time :)

Yes, the goat milk is whole, fresh but it has been frozen as my supplier hates for it to be wasted.
I will continue with the egg yolk and yoghurt  but I will add some boiled cool water to the mix if you think it best.

She is being stimulated both before and after meals, she is a ravenous feeder and I stop her half way though the feed just to slow her down, I am using a human premi baby bottle & teat.

Edited to add comment.

dogshome9, yeah, I saw that we crossed each other in cyber-space. Tongue Smile

I would have been surprised if you hadn't been doing the stimulation, since I know that despite so many firsts in this week, it's not your first time @ the rodeo...just figured better to include it for when someone new does a search here on baby puppies, bottle-feeding puppies, etc., in case they need that bit of information too.

Even with the frozen fresh goat's milk, it is good to add water, as the freezing process does remove some of the plain water in the milk and the longer it's frozen, the more water is drawn out of it. Nothing wrong with using it, mind you, you just need to do a bit of reconstitution with it.  That should do the trick with your single baby!  Glad you have another litter of the same age on site, too, because once the pups are old enough to get around by themselves, this little girl is going to need those other pups so she can learn proper dog language and social skills!

DOGSHOME:

I have always used a tablespoon of white Karo syrup in any formula I made for supplemental use..that IS IN A BATCH MADE UP FROM ONE CAN OF EVAP GOATS MILK, HALF PURIFIED DRINKING WATER AND EGG YOLK

MIXED.AND REFRIGERATORED..
THE kARO SYRUP IS TO MAKE THE BOWELS MOVE.

aLSO  ANY CLOTH, may cause irritation so I used cotton balls....to stimulate instead of a wash cloth...  even on humans the genital area and genitals can get irritated very fast with continued stimulation so use cotton balls ..

keep them tighly in bags for hygiene..

Distilled water has no value...use purified drinking water, that has been osmosis filtered.

If not use a Britta with a new filter and make sure it has set one day before if it is city water..

Distilled water  has nothing in it..

Feed the bitch  much raw liver added to her food and lots of fresh water , filtered but osmosis and not distilled.

Antibiotics always constipate even humans./
any drug and C section causes her system for several days to be off key..;

Add the Karo and keep on feeding the little angel

GOOD LUCK

dogshome9, are you including karo syrup in your pup's formula?  If not, you should add it, like YR says, it's good for constipation, it helps draw liquid into the bowels and softens the poo.
When I handraised puppies, I had them on a very frequent feeding schedule, during the daytime it was feeding every 60 to 120 minutes (I tried to keep it around 90 minutes) and every 1 to 3 hours at night.  More frequent feedings help keep the bowels moving and keeps the pup better hydrated, as well as improves the absorbtion of nutrients and thus, more weight gain.
At least 2 feedings every 24 hours consisted of just pedialyte (this was with tube-feeding, can't get pups to voluntarily nurse on pure pedialyte.)   If you are only bottlefeeding your pup, then 3 of it's feedings should be a higher amount of pedialyte in the formula every 24 hours.  Also, stimulate before and after each feeding, and gently palpate/massage the belly at least 4 times a day.

My vet recommended a couple drops of castor oil orally to keep them from getting constipated when I had orphans, it works like a charm

Well, after adding cooled boiled water @ 5mls / 20mls goat milk and I didn't have Karo so I added 3 drops of olive oil per feed and she has done a poo after each feed, We (me) are doing the happy dance.
Didn't think I could be so happy over POOP .....LOL.

Thank all for your very helpful advice  ....... You guys rock.

edited to add todays weight = 748gms @ day 6.

I always add a small amount of karo when I have to bottle feed. In a pinch and no Karo, regular syrup will suffice a very small amount. You can also put it right on her tongue.

Question?  Karo Syrup is that Corn Syrup ...... Glucose syrup ?

I am not able to find Karo here.

Karo syrup is corn syrup. I always have it in the cabinet for no other purpose than "animal formulas". Be it puppy, raccoon, or any other baby that might need a helping hand.
Karo is basicly thee brand name. Just be sure you don't use a high fructose syrup as a replacement. No need for all the extra sugars.
You are doing good 6 days in.
I myself wsould not hesitate to let the pup nurse off the other female. I have mixed up yorkie to shepherd, and shepherd to yorkie pups and moms over the years when a pup has needed that little bit more than their natural mothers were giving.
Best of luck keeping that baby going.
