Nice looking.   I am getting the point.

It is making my brain hurt from all the twists and turns. Wink Smile    Thousands of pedigrees to look at and hundreds of kennels to sift through and still no clear way to start narrowing the list down.  Oh well, plenty of time; and, as you said, this all will make more sense as I start to watch these dogs in action.

and see vkgsd you made a amazing point ty. i try to not judge by pictures some are too crazy not to. but my boy if he is stressed or im frusterated with stacking him he will hunch up and looks all roach backed but then he will relax and be straight he almost looks square when hes stressed its comical. people judge my female before they see she can work she has drive because she is a funky white color she has bin called every bad name in the book ect. i swear im going to dye her solid black and take her to club and see if they notice.

a German Shepherd is a German Shepherd just like a human is a human.

if the dog can do what the breed was created to do FANTASTIC showline working line hairless or purple. i never judge a dog by their color i judge them by how they interact with their enviornment their drives ect. i admire good looking black and red dogs that can work just the same as sable bi and black. hell i would love to see a solid white doing schh but people dont want to be ridiculed for their dogs

Very nice thread.  Vkgsd,  I have to say I like your logic.  very persuasive.  Illustrations always work well when making a point.

Mostly you are able to identify German Showline or German Workinglines, as soon as you take a look at the dog ( pictures don´t always help, but often... ).
With some experience there is even a good chance to identify special ancestors, but this needs some years of experience, and trained eyes, and that´s something you can´t learn on an internet forum.
I don´t know who told you your dogs are showlines, but that´s nonsense. Don´t believe everyone.
It´s time for you to go out to clubs, training sessions, and shows, at least once a week for several years. After a while you might be able to see differences in the breed in structure and drive.
Show line / working line - I don´t care. Good dogs / bad dogs - that´s the only important question.
You need to learn a lot, and you are only able to learn by doing.
