Yes I agree. DO NOT send the message that you have money even if you got a *($t load of it. It's no one's business but your own what you got and what you are willing to spend. My suggestion is to have a reasonable budget set in your mind and if you were willing to pay 10,000 then you got a lot of room to negotiate. lol If you want a personal protection dog a for real dog that will not mess around then you want to stay away from the show lines and stick with the working lines. They may not be the prettiest but someone who is out to hurt you or your family isn't gonna stop to say Awe what a pretty dog. He's gonna be trying to find his limbs that your dog will bring home for you to place on your mantel.

To sum things up it sounds like you are looking for a similar dog as to what I was searching for and got. Here are a few things to consider that my trainer and good friend expressed to me when I was trying to determine what I was willing to spend on my dog. First, do you have the knowledge and time to properly train a personal protection dog yourself?? If you're like me then answer is NO. I too have a business, a family, kids that run me ragged and a husband that says his "i'll get to that in my spare time" list is full. So then you have this fact...pay for the training up front and buy a dog that has all the obedience, personal protection at least on a SCHI level even if he hasn't gotten his title OR you can get a less experienced dog and pay for someone to train with you to get the dog to where you need it to be. I am a novice with the training HOWEVER I have someone that trains with me, teaches me how to properly work the dog and I do handle my own dog. Remember you will have to work the dog even if he has titles or is trained already because A. the dog wants to work and needs to continue to work B. the dog needs to understand he works to protect you and C. you MUST be certain to have total control over your dog 150% certain or you may as well just hand over your check book cause you're gonna get sued left and right when that dog becomes too much too fast and not trained by an experienced trainer.
