I had to have my bassett debarked twice. The second time the vet actually made an incision in the larnyx and removed sections of the cords so they didn't regrow. 2 hours later she was on her feey trying to bark, but mercifully she was almost silent from that day forward. Bassetts are good barkers too LOL.

Wow Mechanic you must have a lot of time on your hands, what the heck does that have to do with the origional post? Back to the post, I had one dog that liked the citronella, would bark on purpose, lol! But it has worked well for the others.

Sorry VBK9, actually I don't have a lot of time but tried to ask the questions and do the research recommended by the rescue. I saw the name finally on a messageboard that I had become a member and was able to ask about them. Unfortunately this paticular kennel the rescue referenced appears to be less than credible. I have not been able to verify this breeder with any of the local agencies recommended to touch base with. I realized afterwards that I may have tred on a subject that was inappropriate and created a seperate topic which brought a ton of responses. I will be very busy in the next few days responding to all my private emails. Thanks again to all that responded with information about available pups and reputable breeders. Don

VBK9, I'm hoping the couple main ones won't like the smell too. BTW, the big baby lap dog isn't one getting any collar, he doesn't need it. ;-) We'll find out next week as I'm ordering collars today.

I didn't figure it was him, thought you would have had a problem before now :) I would just open one collar and try it individually on your barkers, that way if it doesn't work on some you can send the un opened ones back.
