" Everyone wants to train there dog at first but when the learn how much dedication it takes and how time consuming it can be the leave. SCh training isn't rocket science but it is something that most people really don't have time for. " I have many many friends that are 'dog people' (some GSDs, some not) and they train and title in other venues. Believe me, they spend every bit as much time as the Schutzhunders. It's not the time involved in a Schutzhund title, it's the overall attitude and lack of help for newcomers in the sport that tends to drive people away.

Dtown: Sorry to hear the mishap. But, everyone should use precautions when purchasing, training and sell dogs. True, many of us do use professional trainers. Maybe because we have families, several dogs, a job, the list goes on. But, when using a trainer you have to have your own precautions! And I am one of those people and I have to say that I know my dogs strongest points and weakest points and everything in between. So unless you are in business and understand the time it takes just to care for the dogs correctly, you wouldn't know why US PEOPLE SEND DOGS OUT FOR TRAINING!

Hey Funk Man. Glad to see you arrive at the right time. As usual.

I do agree with funk man also. It is sooooo very funny to have a dog trained and they come home and play dumb, and have selective hearing. That is the best for me.

hey dtwondually, feel free to email me at corellek@yahoo.com as I have some information for you. Also may be of some assistance locating a club to train with in NC if you are still interested. Officer Keller

funk man, Please answer me this question.... If a breeder does not have the time to train his/hers own dogs... why all of the sudden they have time to whelp puppies? Is it because their collecting payment checks? Please give me a logical explanation besides putting me down like you always do to show off to your little friends. By the way can you please tell me who you so I can treat your post more seriously the next time you post one of your "I hate Brittany" posts. I barely read the rest of your posts because of your name status.

LaPorte- you make a very good point, there is a lack of support for new comers to the sport. However, ive foun that 90% of newcomers dont stick it out, im not sure if its due to lack of support, they didnt realize how much time it takes, or a that there dog doesnt want to do it naturally.

James Soles, Facts are this: In August I met you and picked up Zeus whom was infested with fleas then. I worked your dog. I sent video when you aksed for some, and a few days later my video cam went bad. I told you I sent it to the factory. By October I still had not recieved any more monies from you. You were sick, and your entire family was? You did not send money to feed your own dog for 4 months, and I never got that either. You NEVER sent me money to go to a seminar? That was my own money and I took my dog, as well yours with me! I told you that youre dog would be ready for his BH in 5 weeks when the next trial was. But 3 weeks before that trail YOU decided that I had sold your dog, acted a fool, and thats what began this whole ordeal. You wanted him back before I could even finished any training. HE had been worked. You never once got the chance to be with me so that I could show you how to work your dog, commands and all. Now here we are. You broke that chance when you commanded the dog come home in Feb of this year. Your wife in Oklahoma asked me what commands she needed to know, and I showed her his basics, and what he did, he respnded to every command! As well I have paid you 900.00,not 300.00,period! As for Sunrise? I have not worked for/with them since shortly after Sandey passed away. Last was in 2001. Shortly ater "Ceddy" stopped as well. I quit there before Cedrick Greene "Ceddy" My female came into heat and your dog had never bred, but for 3 very long weeks I would kennel him, seperate him from the females,he whined, paced, would not eat correctly, and lost 9 lbs! Your dog when taken to a Vet had RMSP. I did not do this to him. He had frontline on when he was with me. So now we stand at did he have this when he came here? We will never know, either of us. Mr James Soles had had his dog back since Feb 8th of this year, and I have kept in constant touch with him via EMAIL and have all of them to him. He constitues that leaving an instant message is an actual message to me. I have never got them! I do owe him some monies still and last paid him in July I think. My health since before then has degraded some and he has been informed of this. I have not worked in some 5 months now. Even though I did not have to I sent him a screen print of my bank statement to James, end of story. I had his dog for over 5 months, and he thinks I did not take care of his dog,but due to the circumstances here we are. I could go on, and on ,but this is not the place for this. Jerry Hicklen

Just to re-interate a point... It is IMPOSSIBLE to train a schutzhund dog by yourself!! You can not be both handler and helper at the same time!! Good helpers are VERY hard to find and are helpers PERIOD. A person can do all of the obedience and tracking themselves but the protection is IMPOSSIBLE by yourself. Too many people live in a 'bubble' world where all is perfect and everything works like clock work. Wake up!! Debby
