typically my females come in season 5 1/2 - 6 months from their last heat cycle whether they whelp puppies or not....

Wok,
Yes, often (though not always!) when a bitch has missed her last heat, she does come in a few months early. I had this happen with one of my females, and totally missed it, as I was not expecting it, and therefor, not watching her closely enough.

Got the answers for my dogs today, both mother and daughter came on heat today.
