Boy, every time I open a thread like this one I say I'll never do it again. What a horribly sad story. Getting out the plastic once again.

Good for you, KitKat. You are what being a dog lover is all about.

If she were close enough she would be here even though I am having surgery tomorrow.   Unfortunately Michigan is a bit far away.

Once she is up for transport, if Houston is all we have...let's all talk. Maybe we can get American Airlines to set up a miles donation account or something. I have miles I can donate.

Sent some funds for her care. Just give me  30 seconds in a room with the Bast**d that did that to her....Thankfully, I believe in karma..

Oh dear wonderful Marjorie. You and me both. Thank you for donation for "our" "amazing Grace". And yes you and me both. She has a dislocated hip that had been that way for quite some time. The Vet says she needs surgery on her hip because it has been dislocated so long.:(( So yes give me time with these owners. They claimed they were going to get media involved. I think they need media for Carson Shelter for mislabeling this dog and holding her the entire weekend in her condition. And media with "crime stoppers" do you know the owners of this dog. They should be charged with criminal offense. In California that offense is pretty steep. Also she has cleft pallet which will most likely need surgery. How evil people van be. Karma is all good but I want them to pay in this life time. Still NO GSD rescue in California South that can take her. In am still waiting for full report. Thanks you Marjorie for donating and everyone else that has too. Edda, fawndallas! And grand idea fawndallas on airline. May work. I don't fly. If you have Facebook please share. If you have California contact for GSD rescue please share. Gwen

More importantly I would like to get hands on the breeder that sold puppy with cleft palette to heathens like this. It makes me sick to my stomach to think there are GSD breeders out there that would do such. And these people. Obviously Grace was never in a house. She showers the Foster Mom Gerri with kisses when she goes to Vet to visit. And the one Vet has taken a very special interest in her. Dr. Kim. Thanks for all the caring and donations! Gwen

They They recently flew a dog from Kentucky to Florida
Pilots n paws might fly her for nothing- is anyone on that board? They are pilots with their own airplanes who donate their time to help dogs in need get from one place to another. http://pilotsnpaws.org/ They recently flew a dog from kentucky, that he had been starved by his owner. The shelter adoptions coordinator emailed me because he was slated to be euthanized because he was skin and bones and couldnt be put up for adoption. I found a foster home for him with a friend in Florida, I had him pulled, and pilots n paws flew him to Florida at no cost.

http://pilotsnpaws.org/
You need to join that board and post her plight. MY guess is that a pilot will volunteer to fly her, once they read her story.

The "breeder" most likely didn't recognize a cleft pallet. This is the mentality that puts puppies in a box and places it in the center of a 4 lane highway.

Excellent suggestion, Marj.

Thanks Marge I will look into it. If they are still talking about sending her to Texas that would most likely work. It seems like they are trying to head in different direction. Hoping a rescue in California would help her out. But from LA to San Francisico is still a 10 hour drive I think? I haven't even looked at her update yet this morning that would include all of what vet may be suggesting. Yes Blitzen you are correct about your assessment about this breeder who has no business breeding stuffed animals let alone living beings. Gwen

Looks like Vet suggested she may need FHO surgery or possibly total hip replacement surgery since the dislocation has been so long.:(( But not at this time. Not until unknown infection is cleared up as well as Grace gains more weight and becomes healthier. Right now they are just treated her for immediate needs and trying to determine why her WBC is so high, 20,000. Tests are being run today and she has to remain at Vet at least until Friday afternoon. Grace was taken to Carson Shelter in LA on June 14, and remained there until June 25, with little to no Vet care other than treating ear infection. No pain medication was administered to her in Carson Shelter that mislabeled her as an 11 year old male owner surrender. What a mess, for Gov't operated shelter facility. Gwen
