Elkoorr, thanks I'm not very good with blood work (only had a couple done and that was pre aneasthetic) thanks for explaining it :)

You are welcome, Ambii! I am a critical care nurse (and have a degree in Agriculture), so I am dealing with blood work on a daily basis. However, seems I was somewhat wrong too. I assume Patty's Vet did a PTH test (para thyroid hormone test), which was negative....meaning normal. In a way this is puzzling, as one would see rather low or normal blood Ca levels with a normal PTH. But with high Ca one would see an either low or high PTH level. So I am missing something too. I feel sorry for Patty and her dog.
