EMMAJ

Im glad people enjoyed this show we are trying very hard to get judges and to help support this show as they do understand our breed and are happy to give us a ring away from the other breeds as long as the outside attraction is kept to a minimum and not over done. I can say yesterday was one of the nicest shows ive been to 4 a while and thats including champ shows recently!!! The venue is good the commitee even get medallions from germany which r given to all 1st places

Just to avoid confusion, this wasnt South Western GSD Show, this was South West Working and Pastoral Breeds open show, a canine society that looks after the GSD fraternity, which is reflected in their entry. I believe there were 83 entries over 9 classes. I have judged at this show twice in the past and nothing has changed, large rings away from the other breeds, excellent stewards and committee, specials for winners, good judges lol ;) and excellent entries. Congrats to this progressive canine society, all winners and the judge who did an excellent job at her first judging appointment (and no we didnt win, lol!!).

For my part, I thoroughly enjoyed judging this excellently run show - in a lovely part of the country, in fine weather. I was absoloutely thrilled by the high quality entry - I beleive I have been very lucky indeed with this, my first appointment. I will send all results to Jaquenetta.com - an excellent site indeed,as they don't seem to have them as yet - they will also be forwarded to the BC magasine. However, should anyone require any of the cririques or photographs from the day I would be glad to send these on by e.mail if you contact me. Also - I hope to put notes of the winners on my own site www.zollhausgsds.co.uk in due course, but since my return from 'the deep south' a particularly nasty wisdom tooth has prevented me doing very much of anything. My sincerest thanks again to each and every exhibitor - without exception your dogs are a credit to you all. Joanne Cathie (Zollhaus)

Villesgay - I think you have annoyed emma by not e.mailing her when you said you would. Hee hee. Puppy Dog - Romaineville Monterio - a lovely son of Ch MonToya (by Videx Toro) - if a little older would have worried the best dog. Special Yearling Dog - Lararth Sonny, closely followed by Silverleigh Esto - who led the class but just didnt put it all together for me - hes currently looking better than ever before. Post grad Dog - Monksley Mylo - a Mentos son. None of the open dogs attended which is a pity as Int Ch Uri, Ch Chivalry and Ch Zidan in the ring at the same time would have been quite lovely! Veteran - Colkellys Giacomo at Leroaine (apologies if spelled incorrectly - Im not at home at the moment and have no catalogue) A super boy who got better and better and took best dog. Puppy Bitch - a class of 12 - and all very good - won by Usharrgo Malan, 2nd Antilli Billi and 3rd Antilli Bianka - three super females! Spec Yearling Bitch - Lararth Sassy - a pure, class act - best bitch and best of breed. Post Grad bitch - Brenberry batista Open Bitch - Xeline v Luttersbuch - a Yasko Farbenspiel daughter of top quality, photos and critiques in mag soon. Hope this satisfy's the surfers.

JOZOLLI Hi, I think I annoyed Emma because I mentioned you and Devon Cream! I liked the way you only named the winners in most cases except when you mention the Antilli pair, was this because the other classes only had the one dog in them ? Unfortunately the bitch class winners mean nothing.

'Unfortunately the bitch class winners mean nothing.' Not too sure what that means Villesgay, but dont worry about explaining yourself. Most times when show results are listed here only the winners are mentioned... Im sure you will have seen that as you are here so often. However, as I beleive I clearly stated the puppy bitch class was exceptional and the first three were absolute top quality. had you been there you would have heard me say so on the day, when the critiques are published you will read it in my notes. No, I had no classes of only one, but this is hardly the place for full results is it? The 'antilli pair' to my knowledge are owned seperately by Antilli (Billi) and K Stevens of Kesyra (Bianka). All three could change places easily - hope that clears it up Villesgay. I have sent pictures of the class winners to the mag, with all three puppies pics in the hope that they will be included (thats fully up to the editor) but that s how good the youngsters were. Thanks for your apparent interest. And by the way - the Devon Cream was absolutely OUTSTANDING - certainly made my saturday night! Touche'

JOZOLLI HI again, you seem to think I am questioning your judging, where you get that from my posts, I have no idea.Just tickled me that you mentioned three names in one class but not others, I don't assume it had anything to do with whether you knew who owned what or who were or were not judge owners,so that must be your own idea.Anyway you could not know as I thought to have a catalogue while judging was wrong.Whoops! there goes my innocence.

by JOZOLLI on 16 October 2006 - 20:10

Hmmmm.... Perhaps we just dont communicate very well Villesgay. I didn't think you were questioning anything. I posted the results because they are yet to appear anywhere else. I dont understand some of your comments eg - 'or who were or were not judge owners' or 'Unfortunately the bitch class winners mean nothing' but probably shouldnt try to clarify myself to you as I am obviously missing someting. Im sure your innocence is intact too - it would be very wrong indeed for any judge to have or indeed see the entries in a catalogue prior to or whilst judging. It would be wrong of the judge, very wrong of the stewards to allow it, wrong of the exhibitors to do nothing if they thought it was happening and wrong of the society not to take strenuous action if it did. However - to my knowledge, it doesnt happen. I would not as a judge nor a secretary be party to such things! Dreadful! All judges are given one after judging tho.... so when speaking about the show afterwards are generally well informed. No? Anyway - I look forward to chatting with you (perhaps on another subject) again soon.
