Well, I don't know if I'd be able to do it now either, but I don't remember it being overly strenuous at the time.  It's a place where you WANT to take your time.  My friend and I ate lunch sitting maybe 20 yards from a herd of bighorn sheep.  They grazed, we ate and moved on.  The canyon is so steep, deep and narrow at some points, you can't see the bottom from the very edge.  Then, as you hike down, the water gets closer.  There were pools nearer to the bottom that were filled with crystal clear, beautiful blue water.  So clear, in fact, you could see every grain of sand on the bottom, ten feet below.  Just stunning beauty all around.  Seeing Mt. Edith Cavell, Mt. Robson, Lake Louise, the Columbia Ice Fields.  Banff and Jasper are connected, do both Parks if possible.  You won't regret it, I promise!

Thanks gsdlvr, I never tire of those memories.   My best friend still lives in Joussard, maybe some day I'll have the opportunity to go back.  If not, I'll just be thankful that I got to see it at least once.
