@DJC What is your dog's name?  I'd like to look up his lines.  When I catch Yogy, he makes it hard for me to move my feet underneath him like you described.  Working on the slow outs...we'll see... ha ha He can be a stubborn one at times, esp. when it deals with possesion of the sleeve.  Thanks for the support.   Will you be at the WDC or AWDF this year?

Sadly my dog has been gone now for a few years. But the dog/s they had in common were Benny Heideloh and Ork Wolfendobel have both been know to produce this type of grip motion. It's not something that's taught, it appears to be genetic and closely related to the drive to possess. And YES to the stubborn!!! lol Like knock your head against the wall stubborn!!! I hope to be at both WDC and AWDF, but only as a spectator for now.
Much luck in the future to you!!

"He can be a stubborn one at times, esp. when it deals with possesion of the sleeve" LOL. I knew before I saw the last long bite that your dog was going to have an issue with the out. I only hoped that he would out for you. It's hard for a tough dog that doesn't really want to out (and only outs because his handler makes him) after he's already won the sleeve once. It's nice to see that the judge didn't allow the point deductions to take a true "V" dog out of a "V" score. I didn't get to see this years Nationals in person. Although I did get to see Yogy at this years regionals, where Markus also caught him, and he is one heck of a dog.

@DJC- Thanks for sharing the info on your dog and the common bloodlines.  I wish I could take credit for "teaching it" but all of that credit has to go to the dog and the bloodlines like you said.  I don't think I could have said it better either with the drive to possess.  It would be nice to meet you at the WDC or AWDF.  Thanks again for the support.

@Rick- Great minds must think alike because I was thinking the exact same thing.   "I knew before I saw the last long bite that your dog was going to have an issue with the out. I only hoped that he would out for you."  ha ha  Thanks again and hope to see you soon.
