pregnant bitch's urine smell - Page 1

A friend of mine who's neither a vet or animal medical personnel, uses the smell of a pregnant bitch urine 2-5 days after mating took place to tell if the bitch had actually taken in or pregnant. And to my astonishment, he had been correct with precision. Is there any other explanation to this, medically and otherwise.

Yes, rising hormone levels can change the smell of body secretions! Must have a fine nose your friend!
