As many here already know I am a huge advocate of the forced retrieve and will stand by it until some shows me a method that rivals its reliability and side benefits.

Whether it is done traditional ear pinch, e-collar, reward based, or whatever balance of pressure to reward is used per dog, The forced retrieve is still the most reliable.

In all honesty i could give a sh** less if a dog will pick up a dumbell on a field. I want my dog to pick up anything requested of him/ her and bring it back to me and deliver to hand in the same fashion the dog picked it up. Whether its a shot duck or a porceline coffee mug or my crystal wine glasses or a 8ft 2x6. Whether i through it, it fell from the sky, is sitting on the counter or something i dropped. It doesnt matter. I want my dog to retrieve it with enthusiasm and purpose and to deliver to hand.

I will never own a dog that i do not do a forced retrieve with period no matter the dogs purpose. It is my opinion that it is the single best thing you can do for a dog. teaching the concepts of pressure, relationship to handler, the concept that failure is not an option, and many other added beneifits.

Just my 2 cents.

hey buddy- we call that chair a "training table" haha. You need to put up some new vids to critique. be interested to see where you and your boy is now.
