That is exactly the point RS -- there is actually TWO GSD Forums.   I don't understand it.   Rarely do we read Posts about other Breeds on this side.   That is why I cannot understand when some Posters get "all bent out of shape" when EVERYTHING on the General Topics side is not always about the GSD/or dog-related.   Just saying...........

Off topic is allowed, we do ask that you keep it light and fun for all and please include OT in topic line.

Stick to the topic and if you want to start a new thread have at it. It is not fair for others to start reading about topic x and get half way through and all of a sudden the topic is now switched to topic z.

No religious, political, racist, sexist or pornographic threads/posts.

The site owner does not want these topics here.
The moderators do not have a choice. They have or will be instructed to delete these threads/posts and if it is put back block the member. No exceptions.

I am not at liberty to discuss details all I can say is changes are coming. Please be patient.

Lets have fun and learn as a community.

Thanks for your comments and concerns.

Yes, I have always known that GT is for ALL Breeds.   The point I am making is that in REALITY, it also is a German Shepherd Forum  = Two GSD Forums.

The general forum is INTENDED for all breeds, but in reality, is a second GSD forum.

Not many gsd specific topics here. Things are changing be patient.

My thoughts are GSD people make up the highest % of people using this site, so it makes some sense that they would be on both forums. If we get the site to grow maybe that will change.

Build community, tear down walls.

Thanks
GSD

Finally the tablets are brought down from the mounain. :-) For several years, the PDB has been known as the largest gsd site on the Web. It is clearly dominated by gsd-folks. If you go to the forums for other breeds, you will see little or no activity. It is not as if the gsd-folks simply "took over" the General topics forum; it is more like the other breeds' devotees have never laid claim to it. I really wonder how many (percentage) even know about it. PDB is referenced on other boards and email lists on a regular basis with respect to gsd pedigrees. Some folks don't even bother to post their litters' pedigrees on their own websites anymore. They simply provide a link to the pedigree on the PDB. I don't see that with even the other working breeds, and I have actually checked.

Actually, the General topics section wasn't taken over by the GSD people...Not so long ago, if you all will think back, what is now the "General Topic" section WAS the GSD board.  At the top of this page, the address bar says "www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/bulletins_read/449994.html?pagen+3"...

Oli made a separate GSD board, making this longest-lived board the "General Topic" board.  It is frequented by the GSD people.  My old bookmark goes not to the GSD board, but to this one, as it always has.
