Thanks to Oli and the mods for stepping in and doing a job , needing to be done and standing firm on our TOS. We have a large varied level of experienced and non experienced dog owners , trainers, breeders and friends on here posting. Let us not forget not everyone thinks the same and on the same level as you..If you are a top contender with mega levels of titles , championships, and your life has only been about schutzhund or training, some do not have that same level, and they also had things to say and want to share.  Discussions are good and those who know more should join in to correct things but not call names or make anyone feel they better  SHUT up , because they didnt have the same ideas.

The new look will surely be welcomed by those who have been here for a long long time.

Diversity in opinion is needed and should be allowed to a certain level, but when names get called, and put down of individuals begin and it is not an OT, the mods are needed to keep things going.

It is not the members here , it is usually the online Trolls, that seem to get a foot in the door and disrupt and there was no end to it., and then tempers flare and newcomers get cast to the wind .

We did not need a mother to talk to us , but a firm hand to just remove each post and go on .

Job being done now , is going well..THANKS TO   GSD and all.

YR -- with all due respect, I also believe a large part of the problem was caused by Posters who call others Trolls.  I don't like that Term -- it is, in fact, another form of  "name-calling" to belittle another.

Hi Maggie,

While I share your concern I also know in every forum community trolls in fact do exist. It is the job of the moderator team to determine the trolls by their behavior. When trolls are uncovered we will warn/block or maybe in the future use other tools to deal with them. If we determine the presence of a troll we will deal with it accordingly.

If you need a definition for troll do a search.

Regards,
GSD

Yes, I know the "Web's" definition.  However, one's perception will be different.    Either there are No Trolls on here, or at least 30% could be classified as Trolls -- depending on one's definition, perception, bad or good experience with "alleged Troll"  (or Stalkers / Abusers, Harassers, etc.).   In my opinion, it is an "offensive Term"  much like other offensive labels that are placed -- incorrectly -- on individuals or groups.

The great part is now the members really do not have to worry as trolls will be dealt with by the moderation team.

We will never call a member a troll, but we will be strict with trollish behaviors and how they disrupt a healthy forum.

We will use any and all defintions to to spot and deal with trolls.

See you guys tonight.

Regards,
GSD

My experience so far with (old) moderators was not good. They were pompous, rude, disrespectful, power happy, bias and unfair. So (new) moderators, you should not be  surprised if people do worry. That worry is based on experience.  I would like to say that I am  seeing some of the same  negatives already.  Please keep in mind that you are not our bosses as you are already insinuating or our parents and that this website can not exist if  people do not come here if they get handeled by insensitive moderastors. I for once do not like to be talk down to and I do not like to be treated unfairly.  I like the website and people here very much. I think that Oli can do what ever he wants since this is his www. But I also think that there are consequences.
My personal opinion is that I'd rather put up with the bickering here , which I do not need to read if I do not want to,  then with moderators who are, understandably, not perfect. . JMO.

So far I have said what I want here. I left afew years ago because it was just stupid. nothing productive. Some people think I am an ass. That's ok with me.  I believe the gsd to be a working dog. And I will continue to say what i have too no mattter who's feelings I hurt,in order too promote the gsd as a working dog. And I will be very harsh, if they are breeding are promoting showline crap.If that gets me kicked off this web-site then too hell with this site. Bottom line for me.
