I have a feeling this will never get resolved.......There is nothing wrong with moderation, but a set guideline should be put into place and followed the same for all, ALL the time, not for convenience of a few........JMO

I'm in the middle of reading this thread and 25 posts suddenly disappear. And I was hoping things would change :-(

Do we still have the freedom to leave?

I've been moderating my own car related mailing list for 15 years and this isn't the way to do it. 

I think we should all be thankful that we have such a forum. It's an invaluable tool for serious breeders like myself. I do think people should think twice before posting negative posts.  It's hurtful and serves no real purpose. We are drawn here out of our mutual interest and I personally think we should use the message board to educate both ourselves and the new comers who are searching for answers not vitriol.

I am unaware of any dog forum on the net that is not moderated. Having mods is not the end of the world and the fact that this one is once more moderated, just like the others, is certainly not going to sound the death knell of this forum or make it a horrible place to hang out.

I don't think the reason the majority of people came to this forum was because it wasn't moderated, (and if that was their only reason, I think that's odd, personally).  I think most come here because it's  a great dog forum. Granted, sometimes it's better than other times, but all in all, a really great community of people who want to talk about dogs.

Since you have joined I have really appreciated your dog topics, dog knowledge, and opinions on all things dogs.  You have a lot of knowledge and are very generous with it.  You have a gentle humor and a good nature.  I hope you do believe in the chorus of the song, because I don't think you should leave over a little moderation, we all need to just take a deep breath, have patience, give it some time, see if the kinks work out:

I mean if Raymond and I can get along, surely world peace is just around the corner, right?  Well that or the end of the world as we know it.  Either way, if Raymond and I can do it, how hard could this be for all of us to get along with one another and the mods?   I think by now pretty much all of us know what is and what isn't allowed.
