Sonora,
As you know, I am learning on conformation, my opinion is not that of a professional but it is honest of what I think and see, that is if my understanding is correct (which I am still not very confident of) , what makes me give more value to your input is that he moves beautifully just as good as a showline we see gaiting on youtube videos and there should be a reason behind that but I can't figure exactly what.
Regards
Ibrahim

Hi there, I hope you and your family are happy and healthy. Your male is really a stunning individual, i also love the female. The way you discribed your children reading to the dogs is what it is all about. Clear in Mind :))))
Always,
Cee

The male is very good looking. His pigment is to die for and I really like his head.
Good job picking him out.

Ibrahim...just wondering how many dogs do you have?
by Ibrahim on 17 December 2010 - 20:12
LadyFrost, I personally have 4, 3 males and one female, my sister and a friend of mine have a few GSDs too, working as well as showlines, but I consider my sister's are my own too, as a matter of fact she bought them through me. In Jordan as a whole I think Jordanian citizens have about 30 to 35 imported pure bred GSDs, most of them are showline, very few of work blood are available here other than those owned by the Police Dept. Some foreigners living and working here do bring theirs along with them too.
Thanks Ramage, I appreciate your nice words indeed, please take care and stay well.

Ibrahim, you are in a unique situation in that you seem very determined to learn the GSD and have no supporting cast (clubs, events, etc) to aid you in your country. You essentially must rely on what you can learn from the internet.
This is a very good goal, and if you don't mind, I would like to begin to share with you some of the things I feel I have learned from the "old timers" who chose to help me. Maybe others will also share their experience or offer correction if I am wrong or they see different.
This is a Doberman from my past and I feel is good for showing front construction.

Excellent Rik, I will start a new post, name it questions and answers about GSD structure and conformation, it will be for learning purposes only where members can put a question regarding structure, angulation and conformation and other members provide answers and tips and share their experience and information, it will not hopefully get redirected to show vs work as it is not the topic. Please Rik and all precious members do share by asking and or answering.

Oh, no, I knew I shouldn't have clicked on this thread.
With all respect, IMO the pictured Doberman has quite a steep shoulder and does not have good layback.
I'll try to find some conformation links with diagrams.
