Have fun in your sandbox by DDR-DSH
Well, I been thinkin' about it, and I'm going to bug off of this forum for good. I logged on this morning, and felt so contaminated by SP (you know what that stands for) and Schaferhumpin', I had to go take a shower. I was invited to sniff some balls by SP, and there aren't many around here to be found, so I'd better look elsewhere. I'll leave the ball sniffin' to the dogs, by the way.. It's OK for them, but poor form for humans (unless you're drunk?

Veterinarians in Carson are working to save 64 German shepherds that were living in squalid conditions at the Gardena kennel. Most of the animals were kept in tiny crates that were filled with excrement.  An officer was called to the kennel because of loud and continuous barking coming from the South Bay Pet Inn. Many of the dogs were living in carriers that were just 2 x 3 feet wide.  "They couldn't move around for exercise. Three was no food or water in most of the cages. Inside the living room of the house was a female German shepherd with five little puppies in one of those carriers."  Janice Bartmess denies the allegations that were made on Thursday. She thinks the problems of the kennel are being exaggerated. "I say it's exaggerated and there's a lot of lying going on. I'm not saying everything was perfect. I think the situation between my side and what they are saying is absolutely bipolar ...."  TRASH Janice Bartmess = convicted for abuse/neglect.......although she will say it was AR activists and write novels defending the abuse. http://www.pet-abuse.com/cases/8106/CA/US/

This is a QUOTE from a post on this thread and is very disturbing IMO....""Seriously though, does anyone know for a fact that she is still abusing dogs or are you all just talking out your ass?""

"  that she is still abusing dogs "?????  There are some actions that are so disgusting and inexcusable
that done just once, is too many.....I am glad that ddr-dsh's reputation was brought to my attention.....

I had to break up a three dog fight once with a two by four, about eight feet long. Those dogs were really mixing it up! Every time a dog would get on top of the others, KA-POWWW, I'd let him have it over the top of his skull. He'd be weak in the knees, and another dog would take the opportunity to jump on top, then KA-POWWW, he'd get it. Finally the third dog would be on top, and he'd get Ka-Bonged, too! We did two complete rounds like this. Every dog got it on top of the head two times, and then, as if someone had flipped a light switch, they all broke off and ran for opposite corners of the yard, and wouldn't come near each other, all day! I was deathly afraid my mom was going to try to reach in there to grab a collar, and she'd gotten bitten a few times doing this, but that was with two dog fights.. This was three dogs, and a three dog fight can be very dangerous.. fatal or really disfiguring, because whichever dog goes down first usually gets trashed! I just did what I could, with what I had, but it really worked! And, screw the dogs, if it came right down to it. I didn't want my mom being maimed and disfigured. Lumber, hard upside the head, will do the trick, but definitely a last resort. It's not training.. It's crisis control!

Ummm Schaferhonden - How do you suggest you work out trying NOT to let one of your dogs killed.. I know the answer now - only from reading the leerburg pages. A boarding facility owner that I know of practicaly slit the neck of a dog that grabbed another pet threw a fence in 2 seperate dog parks, he told me that he tried the Kabbong and it didn't work, and he ended up using some sharp object to pry this dog off the other dog.

When your desperate and things are moving too fast, and inbetween 2 of your loved dogs, lets hope you don't think of Kabonging them.. grab legs .. now I know- but if there where more than 3 dogs some one is going to die while you mossey on in the house/kennel for help.. You can get one dog at a time only by the legs..

Why not start an educational thread to let EVERYone know what to do in case of a dog fight ?  This could happen on a walk even .. and people should know how to defend there dog, or stop there dog from killing another dog. That is without smacking it on the  head and causing perminate damage.

Whisper she does not love her dogs the way we do.

Please stop trying to make excuses for this woman.

She is breeding again and hoarding what do you not understand about that?

There is really no need to use a 2 x 4 to break up a dog fight period.  There are plenty of better ways.

Everytime you post stuff like this it makes me wonder.

Whisper what do you call yourself ? A trainer? An animal behaviorist? How many people have you known to use lumber on dogs? The correct response from you should have been as a dog trainer and a good person i just do not condone this type of methods to be use on dogs.

Your right !! As a good person I do not condone this behavior towards dogs at any time.. HOWEVER I also don't condone starving a dog, or letting them sit in squwler , just as much as I don't condone bringing up over and over like a broken record something that happend 10+ years ago.

I am not a trainer, or I would be giving advice on what could be done optional out of my own head, and not looking at boards like Leerburg for ideas on how to do things right without messing up my own dogs. The only training I feel confident about is the sit, and don't poop in my house. You did notice that I did not start that thread.. as I don't have any more idea's than what was already told to me. So please do if you have any other ideas.

Whisper
