@NOFEAR
The same issues that the SV itself has acknowledged in recent years - the hock issue, overangulation and the 'back problems' that the SV have funded research into, which I am informed will result in certification in the same way as ED HD, and these are just the health issues, not the bottlenecking of pedigrees it is continuing. I am awaiting with interest the outcome of the motion study. In respect of type, the red and black colouring that seems to be the only colour that is successful these days merely encourages a desire to only produce that colour, whilst a whole host of dogs who do not produce black and red are overlooked, no matter that they may be at least as good dogs.

Many on this board do NOT even breed GSD perhaps some of those here that do breed GSD should consider whether or not they are breeding ethically and for the right reasons, then we may all be in a better place. There are some who deserve the utmost respect and DO breed for the betterment of the breed, and there are those who don't...
- yet they formulate opinions on breeding from all too obvious ignorance
THE SV HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THESE ISSUES (albeit a little later than some of us 'idiots' who raised it before them, and yet you still don't accept that they exist, perhaps you are just a bit behind us idiots and the SV), IN SUMMARY YOU CONSIDER THE SV IGNORANT NUTCASES? They deign to question and advise the SV - WHAT I PARTICULARLY QUESTION IS THE SV's ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE ISSUES, AND THEN NOT TAKING THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENCOURAGE BREEDERS BY THE DOGS THAT THEY PROMOTE. WE ALL KNOW THAT TO CERTAIN BREEDERS THE LATEST SIEGER IS A 'MUST HAVE' IN THEIR BREEDING PROGRAMME, REGARDLESS OF ANY OTHER FACTOR. MACKENZIE HOWEVER PUTS BOTH SIDES WELL, AND WHETHER YOU PREFER TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT OR NOT MONEY AND POLITICS ARE A HUGE FACTOR. they make false accusations against individuals based on rumour and inuendo - they are simply ignorant "nutcases & idiots" - they are the most serious 'disease' afflicting our GSD breed
THE BIGGEST DISEASE AFFECTING THIS BREED ARE THOSE BREEDERS WHO STRIVE FOR MONEY, MORE MONEY, AND SELF AGGRANDISEMENT, TO THE DETRIMENT OF THE BREED, WHETHER IN SHOW OR WORKING, AND WHEREVER THEY ARE IN THE WORLD.

With you NOT being a breeder and owning ONE Alsation, "Abbey Abnormal", that of course makes you an X-SPURT on breeding GSD and ALL what breeding entails, historically, factually, genetically, conformationally and of course internationally, doesn't it?

What a very silly person you are!

What a waste of a 'supposed' intellect Videx, even your grammar and spelling has gone to hell in that reply. Why do you persist in making yourself look so stupid when you clearly believe  that you are so clever?

You are unable to offer any sensible rebuttal, and so revert to type (playground bully). You are the one who ends up looking stupid, - do you ever look back at your posts and realise how silly you look (oh, actually yes you do, you remove your REALLY stupid posts don't you?). Remember the one about Malcolm Willis bringing dogs with high hip scores to you for studding? That was a good 'un.

1) You don't know whether I breed or not
2) You don't know who I know in the breed (very well)
3) You don't know what I own
4) You don't know my level of knowledge about anything
5) You don't know anything about my background
6) You don't know if mine is bigger than yours!

In fact, you don't know anything about me - period.

I know that you have no experience whatsoever of breeding GSD

that fact perfectly sums up what you write

You are one of the most "self opinionated" people on this board

in summary - you have nothing to offer anyone or any organisation in GSD.

Hi Abbey

I know we have problems in areas you mention but I do think they are being addressed . Wot concerns me most is the bite work & temperment.Athough i wasnt there i watched alot of it on line & helpers never even touched dogs . Now if this is what we call a courage test i think we are in serious trouble . I think it is time we are honst wit ourselves. The show dog is no longer a true workn dog

What causes me very serious concern is the complete lack of any "conformation assessment" at the BSP.
The BSP is for GSD so why is 'conformation' ignored.
Surely some POINTS in the competition should be allocated for 'conformation'
Far too many Working GSD barely resemble a true GSD.

by Mackenzie on 08 September 2010 - 18:09

What causes me most concern is that the show dogs barely resemble a true working dog.

Mackenzie
