A tasar sounds like my kind of dog deterent. I'll have to see if they are legal here in PA. Didn't know they were illegal in Jersey; I'd think everyone living in Camden would own one (kidding....well, maybe not). I used to carry a Louisville slugger, but it got pretty heavy, so I switched to the wiffle ball bat. Not as lethal, but it can put a hurting on an attacking dog and in conjunction with pepper spray it will stop most aggressors in their tracks. However, one needs to be very fast as once a fight starts hurting one dog never works; he/she only blames the other dog for the pain. I think my next dog should be a toy breed ;-).

Here's the scoop: "TASER® energy weapon's are not considered firearms — they're legal to carry in most states without permits (including California). Restricted from citizen use in MA, RI, NY, NJ, WI, MI, HI and certain cities and counties"
