I will be switching from distilled water to spring water, but the water here tastes like crap
and in my opinion is tainted from the decades of fertilizer and pesticides sprayed on the farms.

I will look into a water purifer, I used to have a Britta pitcher, but I want to get a whole system one.

How something tastes, including water, is subjective, but yes, some water does not taste very good. This is because of the constituents in it. Many people, when given water samples will complain about taste, and find out later that it does NOT have some normal constituents in the sample, or they are not present in levels high enough to be able to discern. Minerals, iron too, can certainly cause "taste". In most cases in our country especially, water purification systems are a rip off playing on people's fears. If one has a salt water tank, it might be reasonable to have a system, but that is a whole different reason.....

Yeah, we have to have a water softener tank here also.
When we lived in WA, we had our own well and the water was great.
Here, blech.

Just a couple of simple points to hopefully add a little to hodie’s post.

Cigarette smoking causes cancer? No it does not! There is absolutely no evidence which is scientifically proven that it does. On the other hand; statistically it looks rather more than suspicious that it does. What the hell, there are incidentally; 7500 easily identified chemicals in the smoke, 30 poisons and 2 class 2 carcinogens and one class 1 (tar). Have a smoke; it will relieve you of the stresses of wondering about the water?

Generally speaking, all normal water supplies are contaminated, but not to a point where they will give you a medical problem, other than the normal traveller’s diarrhoea and this is simply due to the change in your drinking habits (and possibly eating)

Dogs? Their needs are different from our own. You cannot choose the food for your dog just because you like it as some people may think. A dog’s metabolism is completely different from that of a human being, and just as there are creatures actually living in the most contaminated waters in the world the same goes for the dog as far as its needs are concerned.

Unfortunately we humans have the power to reason and this leads us along the ‘Doubting Thomas’ path, dogs do not have this, but, they do have a greater sense of what is good or bad for them as far as food and water is concerned.

Remember we defied nature and manufactured the dog; we gave it all the ailments that are inherent in it, like cows, sheep and so on. On the other hand, look at naturally wild animals without mans intervention; they do not seem to have all those ailments.

Stop worrying about all these petty things, firstly look after yourselves, then allow the dog its freedom , within reason, then realise, the dog if left running in the wild would be able to look after itself adequately.

Now then, where is my dogs little Wellington boots and her trench coat.
Best wishes all.
Nice post hodie.
