Have you tried a little possum fat durin' the process and be sure to feed 1 to 2 dozen raw oysters daily.  Also, check with your local feed store not the vet and tell them of the problems. They will not have a cure but will laugh their asses off.

HAHA   thanks all .....   When he was being collected he does pulsate and it does squirt out like a normal male.  It is very very clear.

Another thing is that when he is around an in heat female even if he is next to her he does not even have to mount but will just get hard and will actually swell and will walk around squirting.   SORRY FOR THE TMI.    I just haven't had a male do that either.  He has tons of sex drive but no little guys to do the job.

He is for sure not fixed.  I have had him since 8 weeks and purchased him through a lady that I have bought 2 other dogs from so I trust her.

I will try a broad antibiotics and see if that does anything.  :(

I had the same problem with one of my males recently. He was 2, was completely healthy, and so on. We tried to breed him to THREE different females- no dice - no interest, no nothing. Spent the big dollars and took him to the repro god at the university. He got a sample- like 3 sperm, total...( the whole holding the dog, waving a "bitch on a stick" under his nose, while he got a hand job...some things you just can't make up...)  The advice I got was just wait for him to mature...the doctor felt that he just needed to grow up. Well, in March (he turned 3 in January), my one girl went into heat. I waited until he was acting out (whining, not eating) and took them both to my vet. Lo and behold, he was producing HUGE numbers of sperm, all heathy and active.  So - it may be that your guy just is still too young. The repro guy also said that with some males, they have developed the ability to "hold back"the sperm( in occurs in experienced stud dogs mainly). I thought that was interesting....

Hold back the sperm? I have never heard that before. Too bad human men can't do that

My old vet did suggest once that before I bred a male for the first time he should be ejaculated first a few times, I laughed my ass off till I realized he was serious, then promptly told him I would bring the dog in to HIM when the time came, so to speak.
Kendra, Are you trying to breed him already?

I am retiring a female and wanted to keep a pup from her.  My plan would have been to use him with her to keep a pup and that would be the reason for breeding him so young.  He would really compliment her on everything and the pups would have been amazing.  He is OFA prelim GOOD/Normal and HCT, HIT cert and I have never bred a male this young but I really really wanted to keep a pup before retiring my girl but I guess that it was not in the cards.  I will wait till he is 18 months and retest his sperm and then again at 2.  If nothing I will just neuter ( lol not that it will make a difference I guess ).

I actually have never bred a male before they were 2 years so I don't even know how common it is for males not to have any sperm at 14 months.  I am sure that there is not much study done on it but I have seen people have accidental litters sired by males even 8 or 9 months so I would have thought by 14 months they should at least produce some.

My vet says it is not common but that the size of his testicles do give him hope that he just needs more maturing.   I hope so.

i tryed to breed my girl to a first time stud that had no intrest in her to breed, he is now 3 years and did have a tie with her , but they never had pups , so i am guessing he may not have many sperm in there , he does not have much sex either..
he was more intrested in trying top domainte her.. i feel they should have all the sperm they need at 1 year, but i dont think you should breed so young. my own stud had no problem breeding and producing a very large litter of 11 on his first time at 20 months..

i know stress plays a hugh part if a dog  can produce....  give him more time..

#1    very large dog with very small balls and no swimmers..... something else wrong in the head, meaning its more than a reproductive problem

#2    why do you want to produce oversized puppies anyways?

BTW, I am not judging you for breeding early, was merely curious :-)
