Old style Czech dogs are supposed to be worked. The true Czech dog needs to be worked and put through his/her paces on a consistent basis. But, proper training is the real key.

Ibrahim, what I meant was that there was a pretty high incidence of HD/ED in the dogs from czech/slovak-lines that have been x-rayed from a kennel that use those lines in the swedish GSD clubs statistics about HD/ED, not all combinations but in general it was about 41% HD of 56 x-rayed dogs out from a total dogs of 85. Not to say such numbers can´t be found in other lines too, but it is pretty high compared to some of the better kennels regarding HD/ED which may have numbers around 20% or below that. Don´t know if this is typical of czech dogs thou or just some bad luck, hence my question.

About the swedish lines. As mentioned the swedish army strated a breedingprogram 1936 for their use and later also the majority of swedish policedogs was produced there. This govermental kennel stopped breeding in the late 90s due to economical issues, but nowadays the army once again have started their own breedingprogram for GSDs a few years back.
This bitch is an example of those lines, her father comes from that kennel, it name was "Arméns" when they started in 1936 but changed name to "HS" in the 70s.

Of course there was/is also civilian breeders of working GSD in sweden, but due to strict qurantine rules they are not so influenced of outside dogs, but nowadys it´s not so strich anymore so more outside dogs are being used. The swedish lines haven´t been breed for SCH/IPO so long, it was introduced here not until the mid 90s, instead they have been breed for servicework or national swedish dogsports  , which have their roots in militray use, hence discipline like messengerdogs, searchdogs, and the swedish bitework program, and also have a different testingsystem, compared to the german korung, which originated from the military selectiontests but in a more standardized form. This is an example of a swedish working GSD with some of the dogs that are common in swedish working lines,
