Why can't you understand Kelly is trying to fix Brix not repair him?She has gotten professional opinions and it is in Brix's best interest to get his leg fixed not amputated. Not everyone looks at there animals the same. Some think they are just animals and you can get away with a good enough fix and then there are some of us who when possible want to get them fixed to good as new.

A Very Good DEED, being done by what seems to be,A VERY GOOD PERSON!!!!

I feel this hodie person is WAY OUT OF LINE with her comments of PRIDE. She WAS a German Shepherd Rescue PLUS, GERMAN SHEPHERD BREEDER, yet came here a couple of months ago crying her own woes of hard times, BUT PLEASE, help me place my dogs, things are bad for me!!!
She likes to toot her own horn from what I have read on this board!

Kelly,

If the cost of the surgery is so high, what about the long term? For example, what if the surgery leaves the dog still somewhat crippled and in pain? Then what? I know everyone always wants to do the right thing, but I have to point out to you that yes, money and resources ARE tight for everyone. I would bet there are 100 people on this site who are in need at any given time. Sometimes difficult choices have to be made. If the choice is amputation, the dog could live a long and healthy life on three legs and would be spared the long recovery the one vet specialist speaks about. The cost would be far, far less, and the likelihood of success is high.
there ARE many here who have fallen on hard times and have more pride than to come to a place like this and ask for donations, even as they are loosing everything. There are people here, for example, who have sacrificed many dollars over years doing rescue, or taking in dogs no one wanted. Or paying for the cost of vet care for an injured stray, or donating to an animal welfare organization. And they don't breed.

You are a breeder, even if you only are breeding one or two litters a year. Perhaps the sale of pups could fund the surgery if you really wish to pursue it. I bring these things up for your consideration. If this were my dog, even though he is young, I would likely make a different decision. I know many who are stuggling to keep their dogs, to feed them, to take care of their families. Think about it.

Petapal,

I note that you are still too cowardly to identify yourself.  So, please desist from inflicting your dribble on the rest of us, until such time as you at least find the integrity to identify yourself.

I think we all are aware that your "solution," as well as peta's would be simply to kill the dog.  That, after all, is what you and your cohorts in peta are about.  It certainly is NOT the well-being of any animals.

Why don't you just heist yourself over to some AR forums and lists to spout off.

-- what would your decision be ? Just wondering.

She was quoting Hodie, I believe.

PETApal, get off this thread. You have NO business interfering. GET LOST.  Nobody cares one bit what a pet hater like you thinks. You are the reason for an insane amount of pain to dogs and to Kelly.

I had a LOT of swear words in this when I originally wrote it, but I decided to be a lady. Suffice it to say that you make me sick.

Thank you for telling me about the roads Cee. They were pretty bad, and we did have some white out spots on the way back too!!! He did awesome with his first check up. Didn't give them any kind of problem while they took his bandages off and put some new ones on. You can see his pins/screws that go right into his leg :-(   He has been a real trooper through this so far. He will need another surgery once it is all healed up to remove the pins/screws, and hopefully that will be it. I want to Thank All of the people that have helped Brix in 1 way or another!!! I hope you all have a Blessed New Year!!!
