Two Moons

by Two Moons on 25 October 2009 - 17:10

Thank you again,

Windwalker that looks so familiar, a puppy moment.   Does Ikon dream like mine, running and barking in his sleep?
He looks quite content.

GSDtravels,
Thats an old abandoned Limestone quarry, the water comes from drainage and the mines themselves, underground springs.  The water in one of them is crystal clear and blue as a tropical lagoon.  They all feed down to the Ohio river which is a few hundred yards to the east.
My property is to the right of the last photo above the quarry, to the left across the highway is part of the Hoosier National forest.

4Pack,
The fall colors are almost at their peak.  I love the changing seasons.

Vixen,
She does very well with a long stay and the recall at long distances, but gets a little sloppy when she starts getting tired.
We're still working on down, and staying when I'm out of sight.
All in all she's doing very well and is a quick learner, she makes it easy on me.   Plus,  we don't save the pictures of all our mistakes....lol

Nans gsd,
I give her canned Salmon, also Eggs, not everyday.  And she sleeps on fresh Red Cedar shavings when she's in her kennel.  I make them myself with a chain saw, I suspect there is oil from the shavings and my saw on her coat.
You didn't see her the day before when she was covered in mud, and stic-tites from a romp in the woods.
Or her brown nose from digging a hole, a little brushing and a face washing and she's as good as new.

Moons.

Moons, I'm at the headwaters of the Ohio.  Maybe I'll build a raft and float on down.  GSDtravels on the Ohio, different anyway.  RIVER TRIP!  I'd bring something good for the nerves

Absolutely beautiful dog! The fall colors are great in your pictures.

I just drove through the Hoosier National Forest today on my way home from Kentucky!

If I had known you were near, I could have honked and waved!

Very nice Moons! You AND the dog look great. Watch out or I will come try to convert you to the Schutzhund fold.
I'm getting the wagon ready for the trail.
:-)
Keep up the good work.

Hey Moons,
Beautiful dog, nice pics.  My first GSD, the one that got me started in GSD's (25 yrs ago) was a solid black female.  I have always been partial to to black GSD's.

Windwalker, that picture is hysterical.  That dog sure looks comfortable.

GSDtravels,
I've seen people come down river in Canoes, Sail boats, historic Flat boats, some not so historic, and met one couple who were living on their boat.
The tavern, store, and post office are a stone throw from the river bank, and there are various cabins that can be rented, or forest and river bank to camp.
The scenic state road connects directly to the interstate.   You'd be welcome for sure and we'd all sooth our nerves....:)

Davren,
You'd be welcome too.

Shelley,
Blushing.....:)
Hoping everything works out just right.

jh,
Nice post on the other side,  Its fun to see everyones pictures.
Fall makes for a good subject, and what better time to build a fire and do some stargazing, swap a few lies and share good company.
Maybe listen to some flute music.

Now if I can get my Deer we'll have something for the grill.
