Keren Forbes, get off your high feminist horse shit. It's a compliment given there and meant as a compliment, at least I see it as such. Physically males are stronger (in general, of course) then females. True for dogs and true for humans. Again, in GENERAL.

"so when she works she is like a male because she is strong and powerful and only males are strong and powerful..." That is NOT what was being said and you are putting words in somebody's mouth.  Of course it is ridiculous to say that ONLY males are strong and powerful. That is simply not true and nobody said that, that is your interpretation.

It's just an expression which may be a pet peeve of yours, obviously. Either way... A strong female that works as powerfully as a strong male is always good in my book and it always should be noted. The way it is noted, it doesn't matter. The rest is just splitting hairs and arguing semantics.

Actually my pet peeve (you probably won't get this either) is when people leave the toilet seat up which gives a whole different perspective than being on a high horse...

Just make sure you look before you sit down......not too difficult:-)  If not, prepare for a wet bottom!

"No need to compare them to males...you can't!"

Only umans differiencate males and females ! in the dog's world (and other animals) more often the pack leader is a female
there is no such think as male or female, there are strong dominant individuals thats all !

Pidichiban
Where did you crawl out from, Unless you are the helper refered to, if so have the Guts to say so,
Yes, i guess they will give me the job if i ask, But i think not i would be the oldest Helper in the Past History of the WUSV and probably the future as well, a good double the age of the one refered too, I stick by what i have said the Guy was not strong enough for many Dogs thats it i do not change my opinion, and at my age now i for sure would not be

that says it all.....you are out of date
I for one give lots of credit to those ho dare go through all the hassle to get selected and we (on this side of the fence) should recognise that once they have been selected, they do the best they can, and booing is the easy but lousy way to get attention and to display un unsound back ground

Out of date because i am an oldster, that really is a first time i have heard that. I said Booing, I did not say that i was one of them Booing, and i did not boo the Guy ,but i cursed him under my breath,
I watch and i never ever miss anything and that does not only apply to Dogs, that has been a trait in my life which i have done since a young man
No one said being a helper was easy, But i gave my opinion like others have who watched it
If you yourself are not the helper i am talking about then i guess you were there In Krefeld as a visitor watching it the same as i was
I stopped posting on this thread some 9 days ago there was nothing i could add to what i said then,
So this is my  final post from me you can carry on and say what you like, Nothing will change anything, if anyone else brings my name up on it they will have to reply to themselves
However on a lighter note, Would they allow an old Helper to do the job with the aid of a Zimmer frame, that for those who do not know what it is
It is a device to help some old folk stand up and walk in little steps very useful for some who unfortunatly need it,
I am happy to say at the moment i do not but a few goes as Helper with some of the Dogs would i expect soon change that

Steve

I have a real question. Do you know Ronny vander Berghe? What is he like? How does he train? How many dogs dose he have? What kind of training dose he do (lots of compulsion or mainly motivations?).

Pat
I have of course met Ronny and i have watched him train and compete many times, But he does not belong to the same clubs as i do.
My 5.5month old Pup Izzy is a daughter of his Dog Como vom Bonauer Wald who as you know was placed 7th in the recent WUSV. He is too me a trainer who trys for perfection and nothing is too much trouble to reach that
On another thread i put a piece of apparatus that helps correct a Dog which runs too wide around the Blinds he uses that and it certainly works to bring a dog tighter in as they go from one blind to another, he uses other little things to help the Dogs get better to correct faults they might have
He does motivate his Dog a lot I watched him Training the other week with Como and he ran round a Blind to the next one there was a helper in there with a ball high up in the blind, I could not see exactly what the Dog was doing but he was Barking well and could see the Ball then the ball was released and the Dog got it that bought him up, For when he went round the other blinds it was flat out tight turns and when he reached the helper he did perform well,
Yes, he is a clever Guy does not say much but a very quiet unassuming sort of man, He did go and see Izzy before i took her home but she had her photo taken with him recently i will post it on here for you
As regards the Dogs he is training, as far as i know only Como is being trained at the time, i do not think he has another dog he is working on as Como is only 4 years old, I hope that answers your questions
