 Steph,
I am so sorry to hear about your accident. I was kicked in the head years ago and still have the dent in my hard skull. Talk about a killer headache and the vertigo for a few weeks (being blonde, I figured vertigo might get less teasing then saying dizzy LOL). My best friend lost her friend and neighbor when she was kicked in the head so I am really glad you are still among us.

Prayers for a speedy and full recovery and bless your brother and everyone else for helping out.

Steph, I am very sorry to hear what happened and you have my deepest condolences. I survived two (2) concussions so far in my life, and the second was a very nasty affair. It may take as long as eleven (11) months for everything to return to normal as far as your brain is concerned. I am most concerned about the loss of vision, and hope there is no serious damage to the optic nerve.

A concussion sounds so "mild" but it can be devastating for the short term. It will rob you of your dignity when you "don't understand" things repeated to you; when you feel "cold" or "hot" for no reason at all, and when you threaten everyone in your presense when things "don't make sense". Paranoia comes on very easily during these times.

I know too well how frustrating these times can be, so again you are in my thoughts for a speedy and full recovery. The first four (4) weeks are the really trying time.

Kindest Regards,
Bob-O

Hi Steph,
So sorry to hear the tragic accident which have left you in quite a serious state in hospital.  I pray for your speedy recovery and hope there is no long term injuries.  Glad you have your brother and his g/f to help run the "office" and care for the animals.  Best wishes.

Hi Steph,

I am so sorry to hear about the horse accident.  First I am glad you are home and alive, but I am worried about your eye problem.  I have a lazy eye since birth, even with glasses when I get really tired it wants to track cross eyed.  So hopefully you will get your vision back and just have to work to retrain your eye.

I hope that your friend is going to cover the medical cost and help you while you recover.

Sending healing thoughts your way.  Please do not over do it will only make the recovery time longer.

Debisue,
I wish you had used a better title, I would have looked sooner.

Steph,
I sure hope you recover quickly and everything gets back to normal for you.
Send someone to shoot that damned horse and don't worry about it being saved, I hate horses that kick or bite.

Glad your still among the living, I've been kicked by a horse, its like crashing your car without an air bag into a tree at forty miles an hour.
If you took a head shot your one tough lady.

Sincerely,
Best wishes,
Moons.

Thanks all again and thanks, 1doggie2, for the link I will check it out...

LOL, I think someone is out to get me, I had a concussion 2 years ago from getting attacked by a llama, same side of the head,  I was trying to load in the horse trailer to get rid of it. Just had it to desensitize my horses so they would freak out when they run across them in the mountains and dump me over a cliff. Most horses are deathly afraid of the strange looking and smelly things. Have a pinched nerve in my neck still from that one and nerve damage in my right hand from being pinched off so long at night. So yes I am a tough old bird, but it is getting harder to bounce back up from these accidents...

The doctor said the eye right now is 6th nerve eye palsy, whatever that is. He won't know if the nerve is dying or not....for awhile.

My girlfriend, I found out doesn't have insurance on her new place, they just moved into the new place and haven't transfered their insurance to the new place, so not sure if it will cover it, I sure hope so, cause I haven't been working for abit and ran out of my own medical insurance.
I have never gotten hurt by a horse before, cause I am usually extra careful and prevent them, my own horses know better than to crowd me, They get disciplined if they do...and it is not light....
Thanks again and any ideas will be greatly appreciated for getting this eye into seeing in the middle again.,
You all are a great bunch of supporters...thanks,
Take care, Steph

Just something I saw many years ago, thought it was funny then.

I was hit square in the chest but far enough back I didn't take a full shot, still have the mark.
