Hodie my friend, though you had mentioned this might come to pass, I was sure something would happen and you wouldn't have to go down this road, I am so sorry. My sincerest condolences on the loss of two great dogs, Thor and Donni.
If there is anyone out there who doesn't know Hodie, she has rescued many, many GSDs and has also reached out and helped many people both in advise and actually placing dogs.
I can tell you any dog from Hodie would be a very good dog, indeed.

Oh, Hodie, I am sooooo sorry to hear of the loss of your two wonderful dogs. I lost my two "elders" a month to the day apart this year - I can't imagine how hard it is to lose them both the same day. I hope everything else works out for you. Thank you for being a guardian angel to so many GSDs thru the years...

I have not been following the board as I once did....this saddens me to no end. Hodie I am so sorry for your loss. I have several friends looking for companion animals, I will ask if they would consider one of yours...both of my girl friends who are looking have property & are experienced dog folks....they might not take shepherds, but maybe the others. They would have long happy lives taking hikes, helping in the garden, & holding down the sofa. I will speak to them this week, & PM you if anyone is interested. The gals are nurses, the husbands professionals, no question as to lack of funds, appropriate housing, etc. The one lady lost her 2 older dogs 1 month apart this spring...at 17 & 11, & she was devastated. But now she is starting to think of a new friend, she said just last Thursday, "the bed just doesn't feel right without a big warm dog at the end of it.." So I am hopeful that she at least may consider taking one. I'll let you know. Take care & be strong. Best regards, jackie harris

Hodie, I am so very sorry to hear this. I rarely log on nowadays and just happened to log on tonight. My condolences on losing Thor and Donni. I can't imagine how hard that must be. Let me know if there's anything I can do.
