Let's find out about Amanda And Adrie while we are looking to prosecute those guily parties, guilty of animal abuse and neglect ALL of THEM!!!!
    Any updates!

by Louise M. Penery on 15 October 2009 - 01:10

Jen is guilty of a sin of omission and failure to acknowledge responsibility (direct or indirect). Her worst error was an attempt to draw attention to herself by giving interviews. calling the police, and contacting the press--and the inconsistent stories her "friends" (who needs enemies?) spread over the internet. Had these been my dogs, I would have been devastated and humiliated. I would have quietly buried the dogs (or had them cremated) and kept quiet..

I want to begin with saying publicly to Jen and Doty my sincere condolences for their losses. I know how much they loved Ranger and Cassidy. I did call Jen up after this sad event and recommended to her that she get her friends off the internet because they are not doing her any good and that she may face very serious charges. The bad mouth of Shepherdwoman. the dominance of Policemom were just not the representation this young girl needed on the www. The in Memory of Ranger and Cassidy, so soon after this happened was not a normal reaction to the situation at hand, is what I said, and it has been removed.
I recommended that instead of the folks asking for money to find the “culprit” that a fund be put together that Jen get legal counsel and that I would be the first to donate to this.
I also felt it incorrect that Jen allowed public interviews with the news especially the ones taken after the fact, to which she drove to the Courthouse to film the vehicle in which the dog died should not have taken place.
Now to anyone that thinks that I am enjoying this, I don’t think anyone of you really understand how much Jen had to lose in all of this. And it appears the PD is making an example out of Jen. That is thanks to all of the internet talk and her personal enemies calling the PD being fueled by her friends. No doubt of that in my mind.
I do not care if the situation was described one way or another. But I do know that to Jen, this was a tragic loss. I would have liked to have seen some assumption of responsibility on her part but I attribute that to her young age and being able to get away with things in her past.
This is a terrible thing to happen to someone that has built her self-esteem around her dogs. She does not belong in jail. She deserves sympathy and empathy at this time.
Now to the side story: I met a few years ago a man who owned a business on Kent Island, MD, who always took his Rottie to work with him. One day they were moving equipment and he told one of his workers to put the Rottie into his truck. They forgot about him. The dog passed by heat exhaustion. I remember sitting next to this man who to that day was so remorseful that he said “I do not ever deserve another dog”. And I said to myself, if anyone ever deserves another dog, it is he.
Acceptance of our responsibility in the things we do is a part of growing up. Blaming others is something we must let go because if we don’t we will never grow and become complete human beings.
Jen, will learn her very hard lessons that this life is giving her now. And she will come out on the other side with a new purpose in life. That is what I wish for her.

And for all, I wish us safe and happy dogs. That we learn to always be careful and err on the conservative side.

Wow, what a fantastic post, Maren. Thank you for your insight.

I think what happened was... at the beginning there was this attitude of confidence... that there was no way Jen could get charged. But... that's exactly what has happened.

It has pained me to hear/read on multiple news sites that the police intend to "make an example of" Jen... that is a scary, scary thought. I, too, do not believe she deserves to be in jail, and think she has suffered enough. I cannot imagine the horror of discovering one of my dogs in such a state... and knowing that I, at least in part, was responsible.

Now all of her actions post-tragedy will be dug into and the prosecution will try to use them against her. The fact that she got a new dog... that is not going to look good.

There is also the question of what happens to her other dogs, including the new one she recently purchased? I know that often in cases where they find the person negligent or guilty of animal abuse they forbid them from owning any pets for a certain amount of time.

Such a terrible tragedy and one we can all learn from... both from the events that led up to it and the events that followed it.

Nik,

Gulp! Jen got a new dog??? I think I am shocked and flabbergasted.

Almost in a coma! Is this true? Then I want to take out "sympathy and empathy" because that is not normal.

Well, here is a cached page shot of her OLD litters page, now it has none of these breeding on there. She also bred Rebel to Laika and got a "D" litter. I have searched for a cached page of the puppy named Discoe but all I can find is writing, no pictures. I liked Jen, I thought that she was a little off in her breeding program but she was knowledgable and passionate about the breed getting all sorts of titles and certificates. That is impressive.

If the rumor is TRUE that she did in fact get a new dog, well that is despicable in the time after she was responsible for 2 other dog's deaths. Also, it is disgusting IF it is true that Caliber has only one testicle and she is medicating to try and make the other one drop. Neuter the dog and don't repeat the breeding. I really hope that NONE of this is true about Jen, I hope that she is not doing the things that people say she is. Also, I hope if she is convicted that the breeders of the dogs she has takes them back. poor dogs. In the end the dogs are gonna suffer if she is convicted.

"G" litter?

5 litters in perhaps less than a year? No wonder dogs were in the truck?
