YES, and they said the same when the last flu virus hit regading the chickens they warned of a pandemic then but as always it is a new vaccine they want paying for, it is getting to be a yearly rhing just get on with living and forget trhe rubbish that is put out as scare mongering
It was the Asian flu which put paid to a lot nothing since those days, alll these things will kill the weak no matter what is done the chicken flu started because the poor people kept there chickens in the houses they eat along with the birds dropping plus they are not in the best of health to start with
Me i get on with what i have to do in daily life, i have no time for this sort of scare mongering
Never took a flu jab and never intend too, if i get the flu i get over it and never bother the doctor or the chemist the body will heal itsself of these common maladies with just a bit of honey to take the soreness away plenty of water and thats it for me, now its time to take the Dog out and it is pouring with rain , perhaps i will catch the flu by going out in it

Obama....CHAINs you can believe in

Secession is the only way for States to survive.  The FED is killing America. If you dont see it, you have no pulse.

This is either a distraction from the present  Israel /AIPAC/ Congresswoman Jane Harman Spying Case or we have a planned pandemic on our hands.

This Web Site explains the Bio Flu weapon, its orgins and what is to come..better than all others.  Ignore at your own risk.

Viruses mutate and when humans and other animals live in close proximity with each other as they do in rural China, or Mexico, that is where the mutations will likely occur. Nothing sinister about it, more related to poverty, I think.

 Crys

If you don't want a flu vaccine, that is of course your choice.  Many younger healthy people do not see the need.  But I hope you take care to avoid contact with newborns, immune compromised, elderly or ill people if you think you MAY be ill with any flu.  I am sure you would not want to hurt someone else.  If this particular flu turns out to be very dangerous, you may rethink your position.

 Sam,

The virus potentially missing from Ft Detrick was VEE or a closely related virus, it is a horse virus, which I think can also cause disease in people.  It is of course present in nature, and can be cultured from sick horses.  But there is a real question whether it was ever lost.  It was in a freezer full of specimens that defrosted, ruining the stuff inside.  Some things were discarded and catalogued, some were moved, and it is not at all unlikely that these few vials were tossed, and never recorded properly.  It was not recent, it was some years ago. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, sometimes a missing vial is just missing.  The really nasty bugs such as smallpox are kept very securely in only two locations in the world, at least that is my understanding.

I think one of our problems as a society is that we do not have a very good grasp of science.  It is hard to know whether to be alarmed at a report if you have no frame of reference.  It is hard to interpret articles if they are technical.  And worse, many articles in the lay press are simply inaccurate, because science writers are not scientists.  Very few people have much understanding of statistics.  Studies have shown that people do not have an accurate idea of what dangers face them, they are sometimes quite afraid of rare events, and sometimes have limited fear of real dangers.  I would suggest readers interested in this virus go to the CDC site and read their information. They have a lot of material intended for the lay audience.  They also have information for many other pathogens, and many other subjects in medicine.

Swine flu worry: US advises against Mexico trips

By LAURAN NEERGAARD, AP Medical Writer Lauran Neergaard, Ap Medical Writer 10 mins ago

WASHINGTON – U.S. officials advised Americans against most travel to Mexico on Monday as a swine flu virus that began there spread to the United States and beyond. With 40 cases now reported in the United States, President Barack Obama said there was reason for concern but not yet "a cause for alarm."

Dr. Richard Besser, acting director of the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, said that so far the disease in the United States seems less severe than the outbreak in Mexico, where more than 1,600 cases have been reported and where the suspected death toll has climbed to 149. No deaths have been reported in the U.S, and only one hospitalization.
