Dallas, any clubs over there that would consider it??????
How about Denver????????

A very tiny club in Hutto managed to pull off a regional trials this spring - very impressive event especially considering the size of the club.

Putting on a trial, even a regional championship, is a VERY different ketttle of fish than putting on a Sieger Show. I am speaking as a member of three different clubs that hosted regional championships and shows, and two that hosted the Sieger Show. A small club can relatively easily pull off a regional championship--it's simply a club trial (hopefully) expanded a bit. The Sieger Show is much more than just an expanded club show. :-) Also, it must be stated that not every USA club either has the interest in hosting shows in general, or the background to host a show at all. Clubs must host a practice show, exactly the same as a real show, in order to "qualify" to host a show at all. Not many clubs that have not hosted shows are willing to, in effect, hold two shows in order to prepare to host a Sieger Show in this economy. Add in the manpower required to host a Sieger Show and most small clubs, even co-hosting with another small club, would be overwhelmed.

Dallas has hosted a Sieger Show in the past.

I was giving Hutto a complement on how well they ran the regional this past april........that's all

Still I'd like to see the Sieger show more centrally located so that getting there is more fair for everyone..........switching from east to west coast just dosent seem very fair.

Maybe with a commitment from all texas clubs, Dallas could once again hold the event

Hey Jon, I wasn't trying to put down tornado alley. I was honestly cheering for our area. I live in Oklahoma and love the storms, they fascinate me.

To reitierate what mystery stated, USA is taking bids NOW for next year and has been for a while.  A club that wants to hold the show needs to research a hotel and a venue, provide prelim costs for the rooms and the venue, provide photos, and describe how the club can successfully pull off the show.   Plus, pitch the the clubs ability to hold the show and the area attractions.

Personally, I think central locations are the best idea until the ecomomy gets better,  I worry about NASS being in LA this year, I know I can't get there finacially; USA in San Jose had a bad turnout.  Its also not far to make the West Coast come out here all the time either.  it needs to rotate to give everyone a chance to come every few years.

Its a long process to prepare the bid and it must include:

avaiable airports with international flights
Hotel with resturant, bar and banquet facilities that accepts dogs and can provide a rate <$100.
Hotel should have activities for the kids (pools)
Field/venue needs to be within 15 minutes driving distance and cost no more than $500 per day.
Make sure local ordinances allow the show, raffle ect.

It is not hard work, just time consuming and frustrating as all get out trying to find time to call and research your area plus make sure the local clubs are behind you as you  need tons of volunteers including people to run around and clean up after dogs.  This last area is the biggest issues we have here in Chicago, we could not even get a local pooper scopper company to barter the service for a vending booth or advertising.  People are just not good at cleaning up after their dogs, either they are too busy with the show to bother or they are used to someone picking up after them.

I will have to say that the kids are pitching in to help, but when scoopers are being taken, it becomes even more difficult and they are expensive.

I would like to know why anyone would steal/misplace whatever,  half a pooper scooper?  Also, we gave away close to 5000 poop bags.  360 dogs poop three times a day, should have been plenty to clean up after all of them!

Is this also an issue at large trials??

Good post baldursmom

the poop issue can be an issue at every event, some people are just not considerate enough. As a a whole the sport communiity we need to be thankful for venues that allow us to use them and we must be responsible guests

If we don't it will be difficult to have events in prime locations

No, the issue is not as pronounced at trials, when it happens at all. I have NEVER seen anyone at a trial watch their dog drop a load and casually walk off, AFTER being handed a baggie. I bought a few hundred baggies in plastic capsules for a show one year. 100 were placed in a basket at the host hotel, so people could grab a handful at check-in. Fewer than 10 were taken. Of the dozens left on raffle tables, bleachers, etc. VERY few were taken. Plus, there were buckets and scoopers strategically placed. Yet, I saw several dogs dropping loads, and their handlers just walking off. Club members had to man the scoopers to clean up after discourteous owners/handlers. I think there is just more peer pressure among the trialing folks to pick up after their dogs. The same type of peer pressure is there with regular club training. If you don't have a baggie in evidence, "someone" will ask if you need one, as a"reminder." :-)
