Sergeants Dunakin and Romans had three children each; Sakai had one.  Dunakin and Hege were just conducting a routine traffic stop, having no idea that the guy they'd pulled over was wanted on a no-bail warrant and his DNA had just been matched to the rape of a twelve year old girl...

It's a dangerous job and it takes a special kind of person to risk it for people who can sometimes be really ungrateful.  I come from a law enforcement and military family.  LEOs have my respect, my admiration, and my gratitude.

It is real hard for me to speak on this subject without going into a long dissertation on the general attitude of a very ungrateful, self centered nation that is quick to blame those who put their lives on the line for our safety and well being.  We have a media that loves to bring up every mistake LE may make, but spends little time and energy on the thousands of times they take the bad guys off the street, or by presence deter crime.  I only wish there were more LE and that the nit wit politicians that continue to cut budgets by reducing our LE.,  would fall victum to crime themselves.

Having worked directly with felons for much of my career, I have the utmost respect for those that get them off the street.  That's all there is to it.  More cops, less bad guys.  More laws that back up what LE. attempts to do, the less bad guys out there.  Which way do you want it, or do you want to bitch about every time LE messes up?  Show me which profession it is that has a better track record for honesty and integrety under constant duress, when in fact, most of us would just love to send our dogs on them.   Until you have worked with those that love to make your life miserable, are obsessed with themselves and their rights, have not an ounce of concern for you or anyone else's rights, and think nothing of doing what ever pleases them at your expense, than you have no right to bitch.

Thanks to all those that keep law abiding, peaceful, taxpaying citizens safe, and dealing with those that no one else wants to.  I told you I could not keep this short.

Here's a classic.  Two weeks ago my son was the first one on scene at a hotel that had 3 floors on fire.  Elderly couple outside on the balcony screaming for help.  My son rushes in, runs to the 3rd floor and begins kicking in doors to find them.  He finally does and they tell him they are not leaving until he helps them pack their stuff and carry it out!! Smoke is billowing into the room. He says you're getting the f*&^ out NOW and grabs them and gets them down the stairs and outside to safety.  His thanks??????? 4 hours in the hospital for extreme smoke inhalation and they make a complaint that he FORCED them to leave and used bad language with them!  Also he MADE them leave their belongings behind!
