This is a fun thread to read!  Brings back wonderful memories. Shelley I think the woman you're trying to remember had the first name of Gisela and her husband was also a competitor. I can NOT remember her last name though.

Things have changed for women in the last decade or so, but I think that's true generally.  Someone else mentioned Anne Kent and I have to agree - EXCELLENT helper. So much talent - just wish it was possible for her to teach that to people who are learning to be training helpers.  Problem is that I suspect so much of what she does is pure instinct and it's hard to teach.
And yes, I agree with Nia - that's gotta be Gary Park - SchH Les Femmes?  Where's Al Kerr as Little Red Riding Hood?;)

I think you are right. what WAS their last name? I'm racking my brains.

And yes, I agree with Nia - that's gotta be Gary Park - SchH Les Femmes?

CORRECT! That was the last Lady's Cup at Stanislaus SC, around '96-97?

Here's another one for the Hall of Fame album.

Where's Al Kerr as Little Red Riding Hood?;)
Al was definitely one of the stars of that show. Didn't he pull a pinch collar out of his basket and slap it on Filou when his dog got goofy half-way through B? Mike Rutherford was certainly fetching in his little fashion ensemble too.
And you had to love "judge" Dave Schroeder (God rest his soul) in the leather dominitrix costume with his cat-o-nine tails too. I'll never forget Alex Gimbacher Hof nearly pulling me off my feet backwards when Dave cracked that damned thing! I wish I had more pix of that event! (Might have a few more stuck away... so watch out)

When was the last time you danced to a live band in gravel all night long or woke up with 5 people crammed into my RV at a seminar? Ha ha ha. Remember how bad our legs hurt the next morning as we knocked back our first (of many) beers and agreed not to tell Egon (bless his soul) he had nothing to apologise for from the night before? Dave Provenzano got all the way home before he found Duffy asleep in the back of his pick-up. Thanks for NOT telling anybody I woke up snuggled up to Rene on one side and Sue Wheeler snoring like an asthmatic boar on my other side. Good thing Gary and Lindsey were on watch in the cabover bunk to chaperone... Weren't we supposed see to it Gary didn't drink any beer that weekend?

Hmmmm.... When was the last time a blind trainer (Vernon Crowder)  told you your exact bra size after a 2 second hug? He was NEVER wrong either! Anybody remember how much of Deleseiges (sp?) tri-tip, Margit's super potato salad, or how many kegs we went through at the Raiser concert? I believe it was two kegs the first day...

Those were great times. I often think we have lost a lot of the FUN in Schutzhund, taking the sport and ourselves far too seriously these days.

Here's a few more Kathy will doubtless remember. I hope I don't get sued for posting this stuff. LOL

Leg wrestling anyone?

We just don't celebrate like we used to.
ROTFLMAO!

Don't suppose anybody has one of those helper calendars you made. I've searched high and low for mine. can't find it.

We have some brilliant Women Handlers in Belgium, and there is nothing better to have the Girls around to brighten up the day of us poor old Guys specially on a nice Summer day at the training Club,
No the Girls are great with the Dogs and that is why it is so interesting a sport,  the Girls have the same chance as the Guys which is great and they prove it too,

-----I think its all about core strength and legs.

True but i think first and foremost it's all about mental strength.
