Your very ignorant! Whats the beauty in over angulated, roached backed frogs? The GSD is and will always be a working breed! The conformaion can go take a hike!

For those very few that posted videos, thanks. I do appreciate it, as it gives me a better idea of what you are talking about.
For me, a working dog person, what you are looking at is the very bottom of what I would want to work with. I am not making fun of you, I have had, and enjoyed very much my GSD from American showlines. It was painful to watch him work though. LOL
He did have a great deal of fun doing it though.
This is not an arguement that will ever be solved in my lifetime, if ever. The biggest thing that kicks me in the teeth is the people that want colors and pretty. I will never see this. For me, the beauty is in the work, the hard is to convince the dog that cannot believe you are keeping him from getting to the helper/decoy to go along with the program. When I see a powerful dog barely contained, yet maintaining himself, it is beautiful to me. When the dog is calm and relaxed around the helper/decoy.........yuch.
I love when the dog outs, but can barely open his mouth, and sticks to the sleeve or the suit a bit. This is beautiful to me, because I know how hard it was to get that dog to let go in the first place. LOL
This arguement to me is like argueing over a blonde or redhead. Never gonna work, as it is personal preference.

Jeff- have you not had the pleasure of working with a dog who can be both of these things? Just because a dog gives the appearance of calmness does not mean it isn't ready to explode. I like dogs like this, they are very intense. I suppose you don't see it much in sport, I see it fairly often in PPDs. But I agree with you about tastes. Hyper, squeling, foaming dogs are just not for me, and likely never will be. Nor are they approriate to sell to families who just want a pet, although they do make a very pretty picture on a schutzhund field.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!!
That is why we are still arguing about this..Wk line folks just don'T give a shit about conformation (usually they know nothing about it anyway!) and are not interested..If your idea of a superb GSD is only when he bites the decoy and do protection work than be it..we do need some hard working dog..
If your idea of an ideal GSD is one attending flocks, gaiting all day, taking initiative..than be it..we do need some great herding dogs..
If you prefer watching a wonderful GSD as a guide dog, therapy dog, etc..or only as a great companion and guardian..we do need also balanced and tempered GSD so everybody can see how polyvalent they are and why this is the greatest breed in the world..
I say..why can they be beautiful and brilliant?? Of course for wk folks only sch. work is really working..nothing else is good. We only need hard biting GSD with unwrecking nerves and drive that can drive people nuts.The others we just can put down cause they are not good enough for them...They just can't see that a GSD is many things and that's the beauty of it..
I for myself love to see all types in their respective fields of work..I just love GSD..wether it's a working or a show line..
Maybe some show lines are not tough enough for some working folks..but they can do it..we have very good exemple (see up).

I do not like the "appearance" of calmness. I have yet to see a calm dog that I really thought "exploded".
Most of the dogs that you see squeeling and foaming have been spun up by the training, and are not that way as dogs. I do not like to see spun up dogs, but many in Sch do. I do ring, so fuck them. LOL

How can a V rated workingline dog be ugly? V = excellent structure by the standard....I don't care what people personal opinion of beauty is cause that's like opinions and .....! The beauty of the dog is in his work, says the founder, but show people can't accept that so let's say that the beauty of the dog is his correctness to the Standard. Well there are many many many V rated workinglines, so its only ignorance when you hear comments that project workinglines as ugly. Also, their are many many showlines that are SG and G in confromation....does that make them ugly???
