It is not just showline that produce  HD other lines do to whether they are service dogs (police/prison etc) Obedience lines, those that compete at Trials/SchH etc.

Whats extreme and weird are Show Dogs that sell for Thousands of dollars in great demand, at the expense of the Breed, and those who would DEFY the Founder

I would love to own a showline that looked like that. 

I think if Captian von Stephanitz could see the dogs being paraded around the US show rings now, especially those hideous Covy Tucker Hills dogs, he'd probably declare the next world war.  He had visions for his breed, and I know for sure that this wasn't it.

The Shepherd situation is so bad that my husband says he wouldn't waste the money to get one, instead preferring a mutt, because of the temperament issues inherent in the American bred, and the prohibitive cost of the German line dogs.  He believes that there is not a GSD born that is reliable of temperament, and although I disagree, whether we spend the money on such a dog is pretty much up to him, not me.  I really want a good GSD, for to me, there is no dog that compares to the GSD, in appearance, courage, and intelligence.  Compare the female mentioned earlier on another thread to the dog in the above message by uglydog.  There is no comparison between the two.

animules there are some old line show dogs in the back hills that still look like the one in your link. Right here in the USA.They even have brains in there heads.Along with bite in their ass.

Misbeeb, you are right, Dr Willis book is the bible as far as Im concerned, would love think there will be an updated version one day.
