Well said. Accidents happen and its up to the breeder to make sure the pups have a quality life. Kudos to you for making that happen!

Lillybug - it was GOOD you brought it up because it gave the opportunity to express what I think all on this thread and that the responsible breeders feel is that no one should do this.  I hope newbies out there will use it as an educational tool and anyone breeding like this on purpose will give thought to what will happen to future generations of the breed should they do inbreeding.  I myself for one think even the linebreeding has gotten out of hand.  Many breeders in even Germany with their standards have problems with teeth, testicles, elbows, ears, not to mention confident temperament problems.

Thanks for bringing up the pedigree so it could be discussed!

the puppy looks much like a siamese cat............from outer space. what are they trying to obtain?

by zacsmum on 27 December 2008 - 22:12

Theres always one isnt there!

Sitasmom, SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Read the whole post, digest, and then make snide comments about the dog. Perhaps you could post some pics of your dogs so we can pick them to pieces?.  The person who bred this pup isnt a moron or  stupid, but a responsible person, willing to stand up and be counted. Give it a rest!

i don't care what anyone says--check out those frickin' ("BATMAN") ears!! wow!! that boy should pick up satellite with those radar dishes! (mixed metaphor?)!

kudos to the breeder--there's alot  out there that would deny/doctor papers to get the almighty buck.

From the "accidental" breeder here..thanks for the kudos and the funny comments.  You are right about the ears, it suits his personality which is huge too!  But I have had (purchased) several pups both working line and showline and they actually grow into their ears. And yes he hears everything LOL!  He has the big feet too.  He will be hysterically funny looking if he does not grow!  No matter what, he will be loved and remain in a very good home here with me.  He does a pretty good bark and hold starting at 8 weeks, we just cracked up. He is an old soul in maturity in a puppy body.  I am just glad he is healthy and hope remains healthy which now he has a very good chance of no matter how he ends up looking. He is just a normal 11 week old pup with big feet and big ears and a lot of hutspah.  Again, I do not sell dogs, they are family.  I also showed and raised American Saddlebred Horses to World Championships over 35 years and never sold any of them either.  Making money off of animals just is not in me, just can't do it.  Any animal comes in the gate here remains here for life including the titled dogs I have bought.

oh, i know about the ear deal:) it's just that at that "certain age' when they look SOOO big....they're just adorable (and i'm NOT a "foo-foo" dog owner).

ps--like Saddlebreds, but like TWH better :) :)

My first GSD at that "certain age" had "batman" ears too.

Good luck with Acci.

Kim,

Sorry to hear about the accidental breeding, it can happen. Kudos to you for being upfront. That should say something right there.

Good luck Kim, and he will grow into his ears!
