Shelley Strohl

I don't have many videos of my dogs working, and the ones I have are such large files, in such a weird format (from my HD video camera) that I can't do much with them. They don't upload to any of the popular sites. I wish I were better at electronics.

Ok, these loaded all mixed up, but there are 2 pictures of Wolf von der Hausmaul, a black sable; & 2 pictures of Beckett vom Frauengarten, a red sable, (& V Carol vom Arolser Holz's son) . My camera is a phone camera which foreshortens everything dreadfully, so nevermind the shapes of the dogs, they are actually both very nice. But these are both close-up fur pictures, if that's any help. jh

now i have a pretty good pictures why you sticking with that kennel :) I would too. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! I have had this bloodline for 10 yrs., Pretty happy with the dogs all the way around.

Too bad I am not ready :0(::: I think I will be crying to a pillow tonight  I will breed T to Pallo's daughter, Portia, late winter or early spring, for a line-breeding on Pallo's father Marc Herkulesblick, 5,3. (through Pallo's full-sister Wunni)

T's daughter, Ali, will be bred to Jim Honda's 2x WUSV male, Bordermere Aran, in the spring, for a linebreeding on Harro Lechrainstadt 4,5. Both girls are very strong females in the work.

We can expect black sables, gray sables, blacks possibly from both litters.

Here is a scroungy looking Beckett, a little po'd-'cause I shoo'd him away from something stinky, but you can see, the general impression of him is reddish brown. When he was a puppy, everyone would call out, "look at those red legs!" when Beck showed up. jh

Pearliewog,

none of the adults dos you  posted are sable. If that puppy is out of them, it can not be sable. One parent has to be sable in order to get sable puppies.

I am in the office and can not post photos directly, so links have to do.

Like Arlett kennels in Germany,  we own and breed showlines sables. Showline sable usually have a saddle pattern as well.

A true example of a red sable is my husband's male Ronaldo von Arlett: www.vomsilbersee.com/ronaldo.html

A newly born sable puppy will look quite differently from its black and red/tan littermates. Here is a link to my current litter. The two sable boys have a completely different color than their black and red mates. They will be very dark pigmented, though. www.vomsilbersee.com/nickgina.html

To see a sable growing youngster in different phases, please look at our young female Penny vom Silbersee's page. She will be one year old on November 27 and will still change her color some more. Contrary to my current litter, she almost had no black on her when born and retained that look until about 8 weeks. We were beginning to worry. By about 16 weeks, she had a bit and now I received her newest photos from Germany (I have not seen her since June) and I was quite shocked. Look at her photo where she lifts her leg during show training. She even has slight pencilmarks on her toes. The unique thing about Penny is that she is out of two sable parents. www.vomsilbersee.com/penny.html

All the sables pictured in this thread are light/medium/dark sables not true black sables.

Jackie,

That's a terrible picture of Beckett! He looks like a large rat about to barf his guts out. T wants you to remove it before anyone else sees it. LOL Here's a better one of Beckett..
