Please don’t twist or self-servingly re-interpret my words, aristian. I don’t need to “think twice about putting forward” assertion that ‘good anatomy normally equates to good movement’. What in your maddest imagination makes you dishonestly assume that I somehow deem “egg beater action in the rear, clumsy maneuverability in the rear, the roach saggy backs while moving” or excessive angles for that matter, good anatomy! It seems painfully obvious, as for Shaw, I spoke only of function-based structural correctness.

If such, together with other uninformed, idiotic generalizations, reflects the sum total of your ken and comprehension, why bother to post at all? Likewise, if earlier entry (the one leading off with ‘Silbersee’) doesn’t smack to you of banal unmitigated inanity, what are you doing here? And yet you dare prate about this lady’s supposed aggression!

Snajper, some of the dog shots shown in ‘Why do they breed them like that’ topic make a man want to reach for the bottle! Travesty! The same applies to some of those advertised here – if the adds didn’t say so you’d have a hard time even figuring out what breed they were! All GSD’s must be able to work – it’s fundamental to the breed. Show and working lines have much to offer each other and, like you, I ‘d like to see them merge into one.

So much depends on each individual animal’s qualities that broad assertions pitting the one against the other become pretty meaningless. Even the VA animals, obviously, and whatever Schutzhund grade (given enough time, money and professional training that is, if not some luck!), vary greatly in temperament and working ability. And how do we talk of ‘working ability’ and anatomy in the same breadth without first specifying what kind of work we’ve got in mind? Form foremost follow function? Big gap between static guarding, short bursts of agility on some sporting field, civil rescue work or long distance trotting!
