Thanks for all the help everybody!!  I have done a good amount of research for this, but panno is new to me.  Again thank you helping me diagnose the problem.

 Corrado,

No disrespect intended, but you should be asking your vet about this. We have simply given you information about an alternative diagnosis that could explain the signs you have observed in your pup. Frankly, I am surprised your vet did not already mention it.

Hello Corrado89, I live in Australia and here we have a weed here that is often found growing in our lawns, it's called BINDI and after flowering the seed becomes a leathal weapon (not really ) but if stepped on by a person or dog the sharp spines embed themselves into the foot  and are very painful. My dogs always remember the area of grass where these weeds are and will pull away rather than walk in that area.

That being said I was just wondering, (as you said your dog refused to walk on a certain area of grass,) if you have a similar weed where you live.

Hodie, No disrespect intended, but obviously I should be asking my vet about this, but as I stated before when I tried to tell my vet this he shrugged me off like it was nothing.
