What do you feed your dog?  Mine used to suffer from hot spots when he was on a high protein diet, and all the time I keep him on a diet with less than 21% he is fine.

Good luck with finding the cause of his problems, but I found that they resolve themselves fairly quickly once the stimulus had gone.

Dealing with this for the first time on my old boy,  Bactine spray cleared it up very fast.

Hands down best stuff for hot spots is Gentocin, but it's vet prescribed only. If I can't get any gentocin, I'll use sulfodene.

Sulfodene is working great.  He hasn't touched the hot spot since I put it on.     Thank you everybody for all your input

Kelly Shaw has the right idea....

apple cider vinegar!Rich in potassium, phosphorous, chlorine, sodium, mag, calcium, sulfur, iron, and many trace minerals. just soak cotton balls and apply 2-3 x day. also u can add 1000- 2000mg of vit c daily.Acts as a natural anti imflamatory and aids in cell recovery and wound healing. I buy the cvs brand of chewable c. put in food though as can wreck tooth enamel. the venegar is really great and in expensive too! Hope this helps.
