Even if the dogs are not surveyed - just health screened would be a step in the right direction.

Surveying seems to be the domain of the German "type" and enforcing the requirement of surveying would seem to some to be setting a preference for a type and that would become detrimental to all efforts.  Maybe start with Health screening and limits and follow it up with surveying in time.

Hi Beepy, I think Surveys are to assess and promote the correct type.   Hopefully, that's what we're all after... not exagerated extremes... either way, for neither is correct.

missbeeb - I agree with you, however you also dont want to put people off. It is expensive enough for the health screening, and then with current fuel prices having to travel for survey's pushes up the cost of things to the point where showing will become something that is just unaffordable for the average person. Until there are more surveys and the are more widely published it is unrealistic to expect people to do them. I havent seen an ad for a survey near me for quite some time and although I dont mind travelling its unrealistic to travel 3+ hours for a survey.

Any push for combining health screening with surveys - through a Kennel Club Scheme are, in my opinion, doomed to failure. Such an 'over-demand' is a frequent step which leads to failure. Such a possibility is normally rejected by those wanting to push beyond what is reasonable and achievable, until failure happens. Then the opportunity has been lost for another period or generation, and when an opportunity occurs once again, the same process towards failure will inevitably develop.

If only more people would realise the joke about the old bull and the young bull holds a powerful message for achieving your aims in life. They were eying the herd of cows in the next field, and the young bull says let's run over to them and have some, the old bull says, whoa youngster, let's amble over and enjoy all of them.
