Good to know. Since you almost have to use a jackhammer to open a bag of TOTW I am still puzzled as to how the canola oil leached through the bag. Did they change their packaging too? At any rate, Blitz is doing very well and I plan to continue to feed it. I too like that it's available at Tractor Supply meaning I don't have to run all over the county looking for it or pay to have it delivered to my door. I look for  the convenience of finding a food as well as the food itself. In another year and a half Blitz will be a fulltime RV'er, so he needs food we can find easily, not something we need to mailorder from half way acrossed the country.

The company emailed me and asked for the production codes from my bags (both were the same). Mine had a best by date of June '09. I'll post here what their response is when I get it.

I have been feeding TOTW fish to my highly allergic male for several weeks now and also my female. They are doing MUCH better with this no grain formula. I use this with raw and fresh foods and it blends very nicely, stools are great and they actually eat less and stay at a better weight, teeth appear cleaner but I am not postitive on this since it only been 6-8 weeks on this food.

I actually order it shipped directly to me from Westcoast pets and its less expensive by a few dollars then going to the feed store. Its a good idea to always check the exp. dates on your bags. I have heard of quite a few problems stemming from feeding out dated food. Stores should pull it but don't always take the initiative.

Glad to hear the company is standing behind their product and responding so well to a possible concern.

Cat, the bags I found with the oil problem were not out of date.  The date on the bags was Septmber 2008, and this was found in July.

Just an FYI for everybody, I went back to the store and sure enough the old bags were gone and new bags are now in the shelf with no oil.

Travel Time

You say you feed the Wetlands Formula

And the Oil leaks over the floor

Sounds like you feed a Kibble with an apt name

Perhaps if you feed one of there dry formulas you may be better off

Sorry but i could not resist posting this

Best

Steve

Very funny Steve, but if you will read closer you will see that I made it very clear that the problem was only with the "High Prairie formula", and the problem has been corrected.  Nice try, but you'll have to get up earlier than that.

Hi Travel Time

Your reply to Birdy was i am feeding the Wetlands Formula so i mentioned the leaking bags, and better to use a dryer formula

I guess its my warped English sense of humour coming out

Certainly  it was no help to yourself or the others using the Kibble

On a lighter note, If the Kibble is standing in light by a window perhaps the heat  from sunlight coming in may then warm the kibble up and cause the oil content to come through, but the bags are supposed to be sealed but it seems not good enough in this case, Whatever if the oil content does show up like it seems to be doing then it would be unwise to use it for once the oil comes out then it will turn rancid with the warmth
