I agree with David that there should be off lead gaiting at the British Sieger and there is time still to try and do this.  Just like to point out that when Nikki says she foregot about it, it is not just Nikki that is putting the Sieger Show on, it is also The Breed Council and BAGS as well as The GSD League of Great Britian.  I am on the Council of The GSD League of Great Britian and my suggestion is this, don't wait for a meeting, email each other for contact about this and sort it out.  Inform The Kennel Club that is what you wish to do.  As this year you are introducing VA title so lets not make an excuse just do it properly and make it the Best Show in the UK, as it has been the worst year for shows ever.

I totally agree with the above we need to get this right, and we do have VA titles on offer this year, and off the lead gaiting is part of the working class, the males and females of this class off the lead GAIT!!

It will be super to watch so please lets get this right for everyone involved.

There is still time to sort all this out with the kennel club..

We desperately need this years British Sieger Show to be an enormous success. What with the abysmal GSD KC show scene between now and December 2008, along with Fuel and other increasing costs, NOT forgetting the total failure of the Breed Council to grasp the nettle regarding "allocation of CC's" and regenerating our GSD Show Scene. I can see "Doctor Death" walking around at many Shows I attend and hear about. PLEASE let us all ensure the BRITISH SIEGER is a HUGE SUCCESS - Big Entry, NO arrangements, Fun Atmosphere, Wonderful catering and BAR, Friendly (even from me and too me) attitude and applause, Great Judging, Super Handling, Sportsmanship, Great Photos, Lots of visitors, Even German Dogs participating, and Dutch and Belgian and French, and anyone else, even from the USA and Australia.  YES, our British Sieger can be fantastic, IF WE ALL MAKE IT SO!

Will do my best but both Secretary and Chairman of the Working Party are on holiday at the moment and the General Committee only meet every few months so even with 4 months there may not be enough time but rest assured I will do all I can to get it through.  Nikki

Nikki, either call for an Emergency Meeting for the people that are here or just inform The Kennel Club that we wish to have Off Lead Gaiting and deal with the other's later,

Hello Nikki,

Would love to see a baby class for 3 to 6 months too, another few to boost entries!

Phillip I know where you are coming from but please join the real world!  I will pass on your comments Spike to the Committe for consideration next year - a good idea as far as I am concerned but there was some opposition to Minor Puppy and Puppy classes from some!!  Nikki

Sorry Nikki, BUT I am in the real world and an excuse saying 'sorry we foregot about this' is not good enough when the rest of the world are watching.  What does it say for the UK and to say 2 of the working party are on Holiday and we have meetings every few months is still not good enough,  I know you have  put alot of work into this Nikki with the others on the Council but we have to get this right, I have now said what I have wanted to say and hopefully it will get all sorted.

Who is on the Sieger Committee?

I have no authority to approach the kennel club or call an emergency meeting - I will probably get hauled over the coals for telling it how it is.  It was only on seeing this post that I realised that off lead gaiting had not been included in the list of requirements when getting permission from the Kennel Club how ever I will do what I can but I can not and will not do this with the Chairman and Secretary out of the country.  Nikki
