Hmm hard call it looks long as a papy but than he losted at relatively young age. I belive he is just fuzzy how some people pointed. I don't think he will be long coat. But he will have a bit longer coat but well within standards. Most long coats are easy to spot they tend to have excesively long hair in the head area around ears. Here you go few more examples he is older now but this is only pic I have, it belongs to my friend in europe.

Venzosmom

The pup is absolutely NOT a long coat and the clue IS around the ears, legs and elsewhere where you would already see longer strands of fur. This pup may not even be a plush as many pups are born who end up for a time period being quite fuzzy. I have one here now and he is beginning to get his real fur in and he is going to be a normal coated GSD once all the fuzz is gone.

I suffered through one of these that ended up a longcoat. But she had those feathers behind her ears from the start, which you pup does not have. Mine had no feathering on the front legs or the breeches either - it was just at the long end of normal. But those feathers behind the ears like a ducking! They never went away. I would pluck them, saying "these will fall out with your adult coat!" but they never did. :-) So I would bet yours will be okay...No feathering on legs, ears or breeches. Joss

Tigermouse, I think your dog is a long stock hair, isn't he?
