Constance is absolutely correct, and this is repeated-never send the originals! Find a printing shop such as Kinko's, etc. who can make excellent colour reproductions of the pedigree and associated papers, trim them to exact size and fold them properly. The paperwork in your possession must indicate that you are the owner of the dog. There are other things required, such as exact photographs of the dog and a DNA sample. I agree that it should not be necessary to reproduce the paperwork, but if the originals are lost it will take many weeks, if not months to obtain a set of duplicates from a European kennel club or association. And that is if everyone cooperates as they should. Good Luck and Happy New Year! Bob-O

We have always sent in color (make sure they are good) copies of the export pedigree.

We did have one person in the AKC Foreign registration ask for the original Czech pedigree in addition to the Export.  We did have it (by chance) as we personally knew the former owner and imported in the dog ourselves. I explained what was required (export) and followed up with the manager to ensure that only the export is required, as it shows ownership.  Did not have to send the Czceh normal pedigree in.

Also, remember you will need to DNA your dog, based on the AKC rule from the other year.
