My shepherd has had itching problems since forever. Have taken him to more vets and skin specialists than I care to count. Finally, decided to feed him a no grain diet, guess what, the itching scratching is under control. He will never be itch free but there are no more bare spots, pimples or foot chewing. my2dogs

Some dogs have a major reaction to Flaxseed also,   check your dog food.   I used to use wellness, but it did not give me the results I wanted.   I have also had dogs have " SEVERE "   reaction to a flea bite.  Her back was Bloody raw and she lost all of her hair..   She is 100 %  now.

I would do as Louise said--  Antibiotics

I would give Benadryl to hold you through until you get to the vet.

I would give a flea treatment--   immediately

I would change to Royal Canin Maxi puppy 32

I had the same problem with a new puppy I have.  She was 8 weeks when I got her and she is 12 weeks now.  She itched like crazy.  Her coat was very healthy and she had no evidence of red spots or hair loss.   I used Neutrogena T-Gel coal tar shampoo extra strength (1% coat tar, 4% solubilized coal tar extract).

I gave her a bath and another 2 days later.  You cannot shampoo too many times as that will dry the skin and make the problem worse.  My little one is much improved and scratching only now and then, basically normally now with the adult coat starting to grow in.

HI

I have had this problem and after  re -thinking the diet etc and shampooing with  Ollatum by Stiefel Labs High Wycombe Bucks UK.

My Vet yet again checked for Mange. There it was little mites which had taken a long time to surface.

I had no knowledge that any  of my animals had been anywhere near  any thing which  could have allowed them to pick this up.

My Vet treated with  ADVOCATE.

Cleared within a week, the scabs have healed the mites have gone and the coat has grown.

Three other pups also  had been  in contact with  this pup, only one developed the problem and again the Vet treated with ADVOCATE and all was well.

Best of Luck
