Don Corleone

I don't see what is such a huge deal.  I could see if someone screwed with the pedigree, but if I clicked on my dog and had a chimp with a dozen roses, I would get a good chuckle out of it.

I am not sure what would be the best way to deal with this. Recently it was asked the ethics on adding titles that were on pink papers but not on the pedigrees here. I think it is ethical to do that. Maybe the pictures should just be locked from changing them except by the person who posted them... guess as long as there are people there will be jerks with nothing better to do....

Hello there, Louise!

If the pedigrees were locked and you needed to add something, you could just email the info to somebody (paid to oversee it) to check it and then post it. That way, we would all be assured that the information is correct.

Regards, Chris

Erasmus v.Noort and Flipp v.Arlet are wrong.

Oli sorry to get off topic but I don't have your email address.  My husband registered the other night with his own username Sig but I think the email verification was captured in my junk folder and deleted.  Can you resend it so he can finish the registration?  Thank You.

This database is used by people all over the globe, and it has grown by leaps and bounds.  Changes can be made 24 hours a day, and there is simply no way for one person to keep track.  If Oli can still check and see who made the changes, I think the person dicking with the photos should be banned.  I have a pretty good sense of humor too, Don - you know me - but I don't find THIS funny at all.  The pictures are there for research and we all know there are a lot of people who would go on there and really think one of the beautiful legendary dogs looked like the backyard pet in one of those photos.  Granted, they'd know the chimp is a joke, but there were a couple of photos posted of a plain old black and tan longhair dog - how is the novice to know any better?

Bottom line, it is malicious and needs to stop, if it requires someone being banned.  Criminal mischief if you ask me.  Yes, it can all be repaired, but who compensates for the time and inconvenience??

Is it just me or does it seem to be mostly show dogs pictures that get messed with?

I agree 100%.  I think it's wrong to change any information unless you are the owner or have permission to do so from same.  I consider it to be vandalism and the person doing it should be banned.

Your right it does seem to be the show line dogs form big successful kennels. Is it some kind of rivalry?

And here's another that's been changed!

I doubt the dog's owner would post a photo of his male and female in a mating tie!
